After finally lvl my DRG to 75 (Feel like a life time getting there), I notice that our thf was using alot of Party Macros. For example, "You can't see me" Thf uses Hide. or "I'm very sneaky." Thf uses Sneak attack. Plus, the Ninja (Japanese) I think was provoking with a call macro. "Provoking <t> <call10> <tp>! I was going crazy.

So my question to everyone is how do you feel about party type macros? Do you believe it is funny, helpful, or just damn stupid. I have to say this, when I first start playing I used party macros for every JA that I did. For my War, "Now, I am mad!" Tkai uses Berserk. But I have stop that long time ago. The only one I used is for my SAM letting them now I will be making a skillchain and my War 2h. Which goes like this, "By the power of Grey Skull....<TKAI>.....I have the power!!!!" Tkai uses Mighty Strike.

i notice alot of people using them also, i never do, i think some can be neccassary and some not, also some funny and some not.
friend in LS who is a summoner like abuses his summons in his which is funny like "come back you stupid rat, before i stomp on your face" for carbuncle" but provoke ones like "FACE ME, RAWR IM POWERFUL ROAR ROAR" i find silly lol. some just saying like Sneak attack can be handy to let the tank know not to move etc i suppose

Personally, only macros i use that have /p text is Protectra/Shellra, Convert, stun and Elegy.

I just don't enjoy filling up the /p chat with loads of <calls> and random quotes for abilities.

They are terrible and anyone using them should feel bad and possibly contract herpes.

Acceptable reasons for having pt macros.
Pulling
Mage with 0 mp
DD stating their WS with NO <call> for SC purposes
Edit: Stun order
Double Edit: Main Assist macro

Personally I use /p chat for sleep2 and pulling, and when I'm out of MP. Having something in /p for every singel thing you do is just silly

The problem with party chat macros is, even if it's pretty funny, they're not going to be funny after having them spammed for 3 hours.

I say keep only what other party members need to see, with MAYBE 1 funny one, but it's gotta be something that doesn't get annoying or stupid after seeing it 100 times.

I think you can put TP macros on that list for SC purposes also. TP macros without calls.

If I ever get a nin in a pt that uses naruto macros I wait till he has firm hate on the mob then kick from the pt.

Usually nin's this stupid to include such macro's are not smart enough to use their 2hr to escape death.

Unless its something of a Dire emergency... Macros with <calls> need to go away.
I use Calls in macros that need immediate attention.
Example: on my Ranger~

My pulling Macro has a Call9 in it. a simple drum-type that doesn't shatter your eardrums

My Shadowbind Macro on the other hand has an ear shattering Call1...and a 3 second delay
because people who break Shadowbind make Baby Jesus... and this pissed off ranger... cry.

Even when people put calls in to keep up a Stun Order, or to call out an attack that the mob may be using such as an -aga spell... these are acceptable.

I still use info-type macros. such as "{sidewinder} {Just Used It}" so people can see what WS is coming. That way they know that I may either pull hate, or give someone an idea of what to SC with.

but the people who have F@#$'in macros for EVERY stupid thing just need to go back to the dunes where it was cute.

anyone that has a macro in provoke such as "Look at Me ***" or something equally as lame need to die in a fire.

Even Summoners who use Macro's like "Titan...I choose YOU!".
Yeah... great... just what I want... a Pokemon Ash wanna-be throwing his "poke-balls" anywhere near me.

Bottom Line: Keep the Macros short, to the point and informative.
No one needs to hear the fire alarms go off for no reason, nor do they need to lay witness to your failed attempts as being witty.

Haha why? Is it because of something like this...

"Come forth Ifrit and slay these demons with your Hellfire!"

We have a SMN in our LS that has a Macro for EVERY DAMN SUMMON based on F'n SCARFACE

"Say hello to my <insert something witty about the avatar being summoned here>"

Drives us up a god-damn wall

My dynamis shell doesn't allow macros.
Leaders tells everyone that if you really want them, just put /echo in front of them so only you seem em.

WS macros that is. And anything else annoying.

I use /p call macros for anything it's important for people to notice. Pulling, 2hr, and also on my Cover macro.

And thanks for posting that boost macro, I hadn't read it in a while. :D

Pulling - at lower levels and Dyna. I don't need to see it in a meripo.
MA
Any mage with low/no mp
When MBing off a SC, the first person should have one. If no MB and just normal SC, put it in a /t
Stun, next person up should get a /t
Edit: Convert as well.

I have had to blist people from my LS at events before because they have a /p for everything (cure's, -na's, songs, abl's, etc).

Somebody told me to turn off my protectra/shellra macro once because seeing it once every half an hour was spamming up the chat log and all it was was "[Gather Together] Protectra/Shellra" Ive actually had it on /echo sense then.

I have a pretty strong tolerance for macros. I dont understand why people throw a fit at pulling macros with a <call#> in them, heck, even if protectra/shellra macros has a <call> in them. I dont necessarily think provoke macros are all that bad either.

I do think stuff like "BEHOLD! My flowering beauty upon yonder crystal lake of your heart as I watch it tremble with love! [weaponskill here]" are insanely corny but they/we have a right to tell people when they're doing their weaponskill, so that we may skillchain or magicburst or what have you. I think smn macro's "Come to me my firey friend! Ifrit!" are unnecessary though but Im not mean enough to tell a person to alter their macro's.

Some of the most annoying macro's Ive seen were from a bst. All of his were in /l and he'd go out and solo in bibiki for hours so every several seconds you'd see some macro go off and I did get annoyed with it.

The problem with a /p or a <call> for things that are on a timer less than a minute, is when you get that ADD kid who doesn't look at recast or timers, and spams the crap out of the macro.

Point in case, I had a thf in a jungle party last week. He had a /p with call5 for SA. The problem was he would start hitting the macro once a second with 10 seconds left on the timer.

Granted it is your 12.95, but I'm the pt lead and I'm the one with the /boot control.

Luckly for me, I am mean enough to tell people to stfu.
