Hello, I haven't been playing nin (and ffxi for that matter) for a couple years, and I'm now struggling to find the best setup, so I would like to ask for your help for tp - ws - solo - whateverelseisneededandIdon'tknow sets. I kind of have some ideas but I could use precise information. Thank you :)

Edit: bah sets died. Go look at 'Different NIN builds' and there are a bunch of good sets there

I'm afraid you lost me, if I search that way through Item Sets there are 34294394, most of them old or for other jobs :V

forums -> jobs -> ninja
There are probably several threads there dedicated to mathing out optimal builds. If you can't find one, I'll give you some advice.
edit: Make sure you read through the threads and listen to the people who know what they are talking about.

There are already a ton of these threads.
Aim for this set for tp:
Also grab a Shinobi ring and use it when active. That's a str off hand btw.
For Ws after you get hi go here.

I'm personally aiming for this set, but then I 2box a brd/whm and fulltime haste/march, Still need body/feet, maybe when I stop being lazy and start doing more VW

This thread, maybe 8th or so post down? Justinmx and Upbeat have a goot collection of sets. They aren't 100% up to date, but if you've been out for a couple years then it shouldn't be a very big deal.

This set doesn't cap haste...instead of AF+1 body, you should put a Porthos Byrnie there, and then you'd have what I would consider the "best" TP set currently.
There's also an argument that can be made for Houyi's gorget for neck. Just a preference though, about wsfreq vs. a few more crits.

I saw a few threads but as they're a bit old I wasn't even sure any of those infos were reliable at all anymore. Thank you, I'll try and catch up.

Would love to see your math on that since from what I've seen and read everywhere Chainmail shits all over porthos. If you want more haste that bad then use something good Ie: Thaumas coat

5% DW > ~4,3% Haste (or less) you'd get from a different body in this particular setup.
TP-gain and Hitrate would be a different story though.

Super bored!
Base set: 36% Haste, (15%spell 21%gear) 52% DW --- 3% TA, 23% DA
69.28% attack speed increase, 28.31% extra attacks
Porthos byrnie
Moving to 40% Haste, (15%spell 25%gear) 52% DW --- 5% TA, 23% DA
71.20% attack speed increase --- 31.85% extra attacks
6.67%~ increase --- 2.76% increase
AF1+1
Moving to 36% Haste, (15%spell 21%gear) 57% DW --- 3% TA, 23% DA
72.48% attack speed increase --- 28.31% extra attacks
11.63%~ increase --- 0% increase
I'm kinda tired, I probably messed this up, but it looks like Porthos at most is a 10.43%~ increase, while AF1+1 is an 11.63%~ increase from the dual wield.
P.S. Use Thaumas.

Looks right to me.
Also I would have put Thaumas in the set I posted but I doubted the op would be able to get floor 100 anytime soon just coming back and not having any of the optimal jobs let alone the gear. :x

I heard wind offhand was good for its AGI modifier on Blade: Hi. I don't really know how difficult it is to get those weapons fully upgraded (or almost fully), but anyway.. Fire one is the suggested one? or Kamome?

Thank you. And an eventual Kikoku trumps anything offhand, I'd guess?
Alright, I guess there's lots of stuff to get, don't even have sky yet, heh.

It would if the attack and OTD worked offhand, but it's base damage/delay only when offhanded.

it's important to make a strong magic defense build as well OP, even twilight torque and a couple dark rings can give you 17% mdt for free, nevermind actually trying and buying mdt mdb gear
Noted, along with the physical damage reduction set. Though I'm more in for casual gaming this time, so I doubt I'd ever put those sets into use, but it's always better to be prepared.

this set gives you : one of best sets (ra/ex) no it doesn't. This. That's a fairly low-end build for an empyrean or relic NIN. There's a lot of room to improve over that build in almost every way.

Read the NIN threads? Hell, quit being lazy and read this thread, the only thing it's really missing right now for TP is march/Embrava sets.

Most of the sets I've been are pretty similar. I was hoping there was some new belt or ring or back or earring or ranged to displace the ol' standbys. So when you said "almost every way", I had high hopes.

cap DW 50% (5%head,5%body, 5%earring)
Dual wield doesn't have a cap, except for the 80% total delay reduction cap.

Ive been looking, and I was wondering, what would a fully hasted Embrava/marched TP set look like?
