Just cleared SSR2 and got Idi's Gloves lvl 45
traded to npc and it told me bring 12 copies of umbrage plans and 15 imp mythril pieces to make the sigyn's bazubands. has anyone pulled off getting any 45 bodys yet and dose anyone know if any plans are needed to mix the real bodys with the new 45 pieces for the new +1 gear?

Except the thread went from talk about salvage gear to crying about how people should just quit if they can't handle side grades. That's why I said stop bitching.

So wait, people wanted FFXI to go back to the old way, and now we are back to marginal upgrades/side grades for a lot of work? Isn't that how it was for years?

Wish people would stop crying about it. I think it's a good thing they did this regardless of certain armor being "side upgrades" or slightly worse.

I actually like some of them even if they're other or better alternatives that you can get doing VW or another battlefield.

Why like an inferior piece of gear when something better existed months or years before? Why be happy with that?

None of the jobs I play all that often really got much out of the new salvage thing, but I'll probably give it a shot for friends at least. None of the pieces I had completed really gained much out of their +1 either(Usu shoes if I like, gave a damn about Sam maybe. No point in playing that without a WS).

Those whining about the people whining are really far worse than those that were originally whining. If other people's complaints are all you have to talk about, you're probably not all that interested in the event or gear to begin with.
No ones stopping you from ignoring complaints and saying "oh god piece x is the bees knees!" but yourself.

One good part of all this is that, if I actually upgrade, I can wear Skadi feet on my Dnc now and can just throw Tandava in the nearest fire.

Hey, me and my group did SSRvII last night, this is primarily the path we took, and the things we got.

Started by going on the Left side on the first floor, mobs seem to remove very specific pathos depending on the type the Rampart pops. We eventual went to the right side room and a NM popped there dropping us a Tutelary plan.

On second floor, we drove left again, and through the left door, immediately in that room where you have to choose north or south, a rampart popped after killing the previous rampart in the room. Was a NM Fomor Thief type, uses Perfect Dodge. Drops us a Primacy Plan.

On the third floor, we went left again (why change it :p), the first large room we came there was 4 Ramparts in the corner of the room, so we pulled one and then a second, only to find a rampart pop on us with a Chariot, I'm not sure yet if its timer, or you have to kill a certain number of gears, or 3 gears, gonna try specific things on Friday. Its dropped more Primact plans.

Then we progressed to the fourth floor, Only had 20 mins left, so we decided we wanted to see the Boss. We kill the first two rooms of Ramparts and pops, the moved to the larger room and popped the middle rampart, only to find 3 Chariots coming down on us. So I moved on a head and in the last room, the rampart popped a Dvergr, was ok, kinda easy to evade, we killed that and received our first 45! Genta gote, MNK 45 Hands. Reeper received that, so we warped up with about 6 mins to go. I SV songs and they begin raping the mega boss, another Dvergr type mob, he dies with 1 min to go, Purse dropped and Idi's trousers 45 piece, Skadi +1 went to Jubu.

Was a fun run, looking forward to going back on Friday.

So salvage+1 drops directly off bosses? Or is it base + 45 + items = salvage+1 armor?

45 pieces drop off of the final boss/mini boss and are used for every single new piece.

Just checking but for the +1 is it ares+45 or 15/25/35+45?

Basically right now it's looking like you need the 45 regardless of whether you want +1s or alt. set

+1s require the base piece plus the 45 piece, plus a bunch of AU coins, plus anywhere from 15-50 of the neo salvage papers.

The Alt. Set seems to be basically the same thing, minus the base piece part.

Even those new side sets? Da hell kind of crap is that? :(

I doubt that's going to be your biggest cockblock for the new items because needing to get like 50 neo salvage papers probably takes way longer than just getting one piece of armor to drop.

How terrible would that be if you had to use the base pieces and not the restored pieces

BTW if you get the neo salvage papers, you can store the things on Mrohk Sahjuuli, so it's nice that we don't have to waste space on the things.

omg that sounds terrible lol. But the info is appreciated. Still debating on coming back for this event if I had a group on Odin to go with.

Is anyone able to talk to stuff on the test server? I don't know if I installed it wrong or if its broken

Thanks Sylow. It makes some of the stats make a whole lot more sense- given the high drop rate on the level 45 pieces, the alt. set are very obtainable pieces for casual players in a pretty short amount of time.

The amount required for the +1s makes me scratch my head though. 250 plans to finish one set? That's like, half a year of running neo salvage and only letting one guy lot every paper of one type. That's not including all the runs you'd need to build up the base piece if you don't already have it.

Considering that, I really think the +1s should've been a bit better.

That's what happens when ***gets too easy, look at how easy relics/gil are, give people one minor challenge after lowering their standards and its WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I mean, people asked for "We want visible progress, not low drop rates."

This is basically what that looks like, lol. There also may be more ways to get plans, some bizarre things happened when we did Neo-Zhayolm (like killing a room full of fish that popped a room full of gears that served absoutely NO purpose).

So it stands to reason that there will be unlockable things we discover down the road '-'
