Even I reacted negatively to Lady Gaga's outlandishness at first... but the more I listened the more I heard the heart/energy underneath the songs/performance and found it terribly beautiful^^

There are countless levels of communication, a majority that our cultural/common mind is not aware of.
For all the apparent shallowness, Lady Gaga touches something primordial, something achingly soulful... even if it is all reduced to simply braveness in living so boldly. As much as each of us would not want to be written off and called trash, realize everyone has many facets to their being and even if they are not your cup of tea are worthy of respect.

But you're correct... I'm sure a lot of people would think my music is ***. Doesn't change the fact that I like it! i was jk anyway. no way about to spark an "its ok /not ok to be different" debate, or whats "normal" and isnt.
only meant to say that for all the people i know that have pretty set tastes in music, i find it surprising how many have/will make an exception for her. not that i care in the slightest either.. i dont like her music personally, but theres nothing wrong with it or liking it. just think they put subliminal messaging in it is all >.>, easy on the srsnss I like Lady gaga. for 1 her originality.
Are you not tired of the cookie-cutter singers and performers that are out now? I think shes talented in her own right. shes popular because shes different, hell even Queen Elizabeth is feeling her swag! She not boring to watch. even if you don't like her you still cant help but look to see what shes trying to show you. There are better things to do in life then hate on someone doing their thing to make money.

It all boils down to "Does a Art/ist reflect you or not?"
One forum poster saw themselves in Silverstein and was excited about them. Silverstein does not reflect me at all, but that is OK! lol When people call any music trash they are -really- saying "I don't see myself in that music at all" I hope people will learn to honestly communicate their true feelings rather than hide behind shallow hate and negativity.
