Thousands of endgame battles, campaign battles, or even xp/merit parties have left you bored? Then band together with LS mates and friends for this experiment. Instructions as follows:

1. Two people, any combo of job/subjob.
2. Best gear possible, any and all allowed.
3. Food allowed, but no potions.
4. Jobs can be merited to any degree.
5. No "adventuring fellow" support.

The chalenge: Take down an average mob, must be IT, but does not have to be a very difficult mob, can be the easiest IT you can find. The goal of the experiment is to try and measure the diferences of kill speed, and effectiveness of the "duo". Time the battle, and report back your results, and most of all, have fun and good luck!!!!!
P.S Anyone up to this challenge has "Cojones" and deserves a congratulations, win or lose.

Well if there are IT puddings out there (not sure if VT is the highest) pretty sure 2 really well equipped blms could kill them with 1 spell each lol.

If IT shows to be too impossible, VT should yeild similar results. =)

WHM or RDM + KClub DRK, mob dies in 5 seconds. Elapsed time is a horrible way to measure the effectiveness of a duo really >_> The strength of the monster it can kill or the ability to survive through a situation are arguably better measurements.

Well yeah probably should've put no 2hrs allow on there too lol. Along with no meds though that can be inferred from no potion kinda. After all should be looking for something that can actually be repeated in a reasonable amount of time.

Wait does it have to be at level 75?

yes, mob must check as IT or VT to a level 75. Two hours are allowed, but keep in mind any good DD can go out and 2 hour and do a lot of damage but you better hope you picked a good partner for when you pull all the hate. lol

Remember to post kill times and sub jobs and mob killed.

Me and a friend used to duo Abraxas (Lv 80-83) in Lufaise Meadows, THF/NIN and DNC/NIN. we were usually able to get chain 4 on them, most of them checks as VT but there's a few IT's there as well at 75.

Well then I think kclub drks win. Especially with 2hring double marching brd for support lol. Or hell wouldn't be suprised if a rng out there doesn't 1 shot an imp lol

Define kill times. Like is it from the time the first action related to fighting the mob is taken or when you first start dealing dmg to death? Does buffing count towards your time?

Nin/dnc with lots of gear swap macros, not the best gear in the game but at least some relic and 20% haste (me).

With a....

Rdm/nin with morrigan body and joyeuse and blau.

the mob

Was a NM actually. We took down Detonator NM and it took only 5mins or so.

has to be my favorite job to duo with i swear.

Nevermolt in beadaux [S) duo full usukane galka with mnk and amano sam + rdm/nin is a lot of fun, doesnt take as long as standing there soloing it yourself and its not like terror shield ever drops anyways

to that point, duoing most of the NMs in there is a lot of fun

mnk+rdm is prettymuch godly on a lot of stuff

edit Q_Q wth is up with ... oh ...

My husband and I regularly duo Limbus, NW Appollyon. I go blm/whm (only until I get my rdm leveled to a respectable sub) and he goes rdm/blm. The first 3 floors we just burn through quick as we can, then on the 4th floor we kill all the baby dragons and then Fafnir. (Not named Fafnir up there, but hecks if I can remember or spell his Limbus name.) Once Faf is dead, we go up to the last floor and play with the behemoths. I would assume that Limbus mobs are VT-IT. It takes, um, the whole half hour plus all the time chests to clear the first 4 floors and have time to play with the behes on the 5th.

Edit: We only kill the Fafnir boss, not any of the others.

I apologise if i wasnt totaly clear about the parameters of this experiment. Personal discretion is advised as to further details of the rules and conditions of the battle. I simply wanted to provide my basic formula as a starting point for fun. Feel free to define the parameters of your individual tests among friends or LS mates. And if you choose, report what you did and how. Just have fun and use this as a chance to ease some of the repetetive boredom this game causes at times. I encourage people to think out of the box and use other combo's besides the known cookie cutter ideas. Have fun!!!

nooo the galka had mnk and then amano, it was harder to duo sam/nin and rdm/nin than with mnk/nin+rdm/nin D: sorry for the confusing post lol I couldnt figure out why it kept puting strikethrough through my whole post /facepalm

Ok let's see what I can remember duoing:

BST duo against Balor, BST/NIN x2. Easy as pie as long as you remember pet food. Charm and Familiar Blubber Eyes, pop the NM, ???, Profit!

SCH/RDM + BLM/RDM duo on Bloodlapper. When we popped it, BLM stunned it and I did Gravity, then we brought it to the tunnel area that zones to the Fort, nuke/sleep. Took about 20-30 minutes.

That's all I can come up with for now.
