Again, I'd motion to at the very least prevent topics like this from ever reaching the front page, if not remove a "politics and religion" forum altogether. This ***has no place here.
FFXIAH.com is one of my favorite websites about a pastime that I greatly enjoy (FFXI itself). I really enjoy coming to this website, and I enjoy looking through the forums at FFXI related information, talking with other people who share the same passion and learning from each other. It's one of the few sites I check on a consistent basis and one of only two major FFXI-related websites I deem credible in any fashion.
If a politics and religion forum were to stay, so be it. Those of us not interested can avoid entering that forum, as I have done since it's inception. (I know it wasn't there a while back, and thus far I've managed to not even notice one was created) But it's pretty difficult to avoid being exposed to this *** when it's blatantly posted on the front page.
We have to hear enough about this ***in daily life, in the news and from everyone around us. I do not want to be exposed to it through mediums which I was choosing to be entertained, something that was meant to be enjoyable.
Threads like this get lots of attention because the original post is purposefully inflammatory, and goes as far as to be downright insulting.
I wholeheartedly suggest this type of content be removed. There are places for discussions like these, and this website should not be one of them.

Story time! A soldier, who we'll call Johnny, goes to war. During this time period, he's making money. Johnny isn't spending money while he's away at war, because when you're in a rathole in Iraq, there's not much to spend money on. This is okay however, because let's say Johnny would be unemployed if he wasn't at war, and therefore not spending money anyway. Johnny finishes his service, and comes with some money. Johnny is excited. He goes out and spends money that he wouldn't have if he'd been unemployed. Johnny decides to take advantage of the college programs for returned soldiers. Johnny gets smart. Johnny gets a job.
I'm thinking Johnny thinks getting that job, even if for a year or two, was actually quite a big deal.

But really, you can't just say "Johnny goes to college and lives happily ever after." This relies heavily on what he studied and where he is located. If he graduated here, there is no jobs. Period.
