I mean, the thing is he's European. If an American company COULD actually do the things he said, it's literally against the law. The shareholders would sue the company.

They are obligated to put profits above all else, obligated to grow, obligated to increase share value at all cost if it's a publicly traded company.

FFXIV has an abnormally high percentage of women that play it, which is why it's so weird and deranged. When women make up a minority of players, the community tends to be normal (which is every other mmorpg that exists) and the women just play the game.

When the % gets too high, not only does it attract weird women that ship mamools with other mamools and write romance novels about it on twitter, but they also have literal unironic dance clubs where they perform paid dance emotes at each other with a DJ playing songs for the "club" to listen on on twitch and pay a sub just to take pics of their characters and/or mog house like anyone cares.

If doing dance club is weird, what's the normal mmorpg gameplay?

Different LS competing for world first kills and advertise about their accomplishments? Posting parses and argue optimal builds or strategy on game forums endlessly? Min maxing, raiding and grinding gears for years?

I honestly find dance club idea fun and I wish FFXI had it tbh.

If no one buys woke games, they stop being made.

It all began with Occupy Wallstreet, or so the legend says.

There is a reason all this culture war stuff is happening, and companies are being forced to antagonize their customers in ways that are leading to mass layoffs and selloffs. It's better to have all the aggressive left wing activists busy arguing with fanboys, over star wars and video game characters, than about wealth inequality and wall street. Real world provoke mechanics, don't look at that! look at this instead.

Big mega corps like Vanguard and Blackrock will and are paying top dollar for that distraction porn, even if they lose billions when their forced policies lead to bombs. It's still worth it, cause it's a distraction away from trillion dollar business operations, so they will keep funding it.

Anyone that thinks these mega companies are left wing allies is extremely naive.

I mean it all makes sense if you think about it.

When mega corps like Blackrock and Vanguard intentionally lose money and force companies to destroy themselves, there is a reason for it. These are not stupid or good people, quite the opposite.

Culture war puts the plebs on both sides against each other, arguing over irrelevancies.

Chinese nationalism has been insane in the recent years. I gave Wukong dev benefit of the doubt that I assumed they didn't make games for nationalism, it is nationalists using their game for their propaganda.

Their TGA response proved I was totally wrong about them lol.

what a surprise.....ummm not really.

Right now if you talk slightly bad about Wukong in the firewall, you will be burned by angry Chinese internet mobs. Totally insane.

Nah dude, it's just virtue signalling. Oh look at us, we're progressive and care.

No, you don't. You're doing the bare minimum PR bullc**p to give the impression you gaf when you do not. Just PR nonsense, nothing more.

That companies bet their livelihoods on being woke is their loss, no one else's. People screaming loudly on twitter don't buy those games. They are not the market and could not care less.

Antoginising everyone else leaves you with a smaller market share not larger.

Vote wrt to market share, not politics.

It’s possible that a mistranslation of what Vincke said could have prompted the review bombing, as most of the negative reviews seem to be written by Chinese players despite Black Myth: Wukong’s global popularity. There are currently reports of a dodgy Chinese translation of the show, making Vincke’s marks appear to be harsher than they actually are. However, it’s also possible that some of these players are upset that they can’t take their frustrations out on Astro Bot, as the game is not available on Steam.

It wasnt Wukong fans, because there are plenty of Wukong fans across the world, it was the Chinese playerbase.

Mr. "thats a conspiracy, thats made up drivel, he backpedaled after lying, stop making stuff up" is doing the things they accuse others of doing.

Remember gents, every accusation is a confession.

Of course, I'm not surprised about your stance on this. You seemed to think when RA said "FFXIV has a larger female player base compared to other MMO's", you perceived that to mean "females are the majority"

Funny how the anti woke youtubers make so much money from corporate ads though isn't it, I find it interesting how much money they make and how much the algo pushes the content (even if I agree with it). If this was all a legit thing, they would get demonetized. All these companies would demand their ads not show on these channels going against their supposed virtuous agenda, that they willingly lose money over continually.

They want this stuff, they want the culture war, they want us arguing endlessly about how big the boobs are on some random star wars character nobody cares about. That's why they keep pushing into new areas, like how Blackrock are now heavily investing in Japan (they recently invested in many JP video game companies and vtuber corpos like hololive) to rile up people who have become contented with playing JP content (not for much longer you wont!).

https://www.blackrock.com/corporate/insights/investing-in-japan

Virtue signalling is the thing people do online to pretend they are good people or to get likes, not something corporations do that is incredibly unpopular with the masses and loses them billions of dollars.

None of this is new. Facebook figured out in the very early days that if you you push content that makes people angry, they will engage with it drastically more than if they pushed content that makes you feel good. It's been a snowball down the mountain ever since.

What always confused me was how ads can afford to pay people so much money. I never thought it was possible that the products being sold generated enough revenue to pay for these ads... but then I realized the real money doesn't come from seling the goods, it comes from turning the viewers into the goods. It's insane how valuable the data from clicks, view duration, and engagement is.

It's true that angry posts spread faster than other types of posts. But it is not being intentionally pushed by blackrock, it is just normal human behavior.

Even way back in 2013 researchers found that angry posts spreads faster than joy/sadness/disgust on Weibo(therefore it is none of Blackrock/Meta's business)

https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-24158675.amp

Harvard had similar research:
https://www.library.hbs.edu/working-knowledge/hate-spreads-faster-on-twitter-evidence-from-44-news-outlets

So if you see that everyone online is fighting cultural war angrily, that's because the way human psychology and algorithm works makes those posts appear more often.

So...Radial, when you argued about boobs on FFXIAH.com were you influenced by Blackrock too?

RadialArcana said: »
When big boobs were everywhere 20+ years ago feminist groups were outraged, they said it was encouraging women to get boob jobs and wanted depiction of them removed from all forms of media. Once they got enough power they literally outlawed them from all forms of media in the west, to the point you almost never see them anymore at all. Movies, video games, adverts, tv shows..everything are afraid of adding any depiction of women with big boobs, like they will get arrested if they do.

RadialArcana said: »
We went from all the women in our media being sexy and having big tiddies, to most of the women looking like men now. I can't even remember the last time I saw a western woman in a movie, tv show or western video game with big boobs.

RadialArcana said: »
However, they already had the virality from the tifa boobs video and now they are simply farming fail.

If you were influenced by Blackrock too, then you can't blame them for wanting to influence you! Because there are too many mental weaklings that would fall for it! It would be silly to give up on the good chance.
