That is definitely the case, yes.

(Nobody knows exactly how it's unlocked - whether it's strictly completions of the previous tier or the national Campaign statistics or something else - but it's definitely "more people doing it = better")

Do all Campaign Ops reset to Tier 1 after the tally or are some Tiers preserved based on something unknown? I always assumed they reset because a lot of the Ops I see do lose the higher Tiers when I get on after a tally, but some times it's a few hours after the tally that I make it on so it's possible someone 6 boxing is spamming Ops and unlocking the final tier of a few ops I guess?

Edit: One more question. Is there a static amount of Allied Notes you need to obtain to rank up or does it fluctuate based on current medal?

After tally, progress towards the next tier is reset and one tier is lost.

how fast must you select correct ingredients for crystal fist 3 for it to work?
This campaign ops, i've memorized the recipe 3x and tried to pick as fast as i could read the ingredient list and still wouldn't even send me to the 2nd recipe.

makes me worried if i even can win crystal fist 4, or the 3 or 4 of iron anvil since that's basically the same thing.

If you're missing it, at the bottom of the list there should be a "No more ingredients are needed" option. You'll need to start clicking that after you select all required ingredients for recipes with less than 8 ingredients.

I did click that, the 3rd time i didn't even question my decision and hit that as fast as i could.

separate question; can i increase Aegis Scream 2 to 3 & 4 by just spamming 5 (since that's already available)?
that's the one where you just do campaign battles to defend.
guess i'm just looking for fewer trips back to town to get access to those really.

well, got my answer, 6k xp, no credit for northland under my nation's control defense. guess only orc areas count. not northland ones. and vice versa probably for 5.

edit: on the 1st topic again, 4th try i didn't bother to wait to memorize the whole recipe before clicking enter to start the crystal search, and it went through. think the timer may start earlier than mentioned in the wiki.

this is correct - the mission descriptions/dialogue say "northlands" or something, the highest-number for all those offense/defense are specifically Beaucedine/Xarcabard

e: as for Crystal Fist, I had a friend who could never do them fast enough and I've never failed to do them fast enough and we never did figure out the difference. Make sure your frame rate is the default, but beyond that I got nothing.

I did some more updating of this, although I'm still a few pages behind.

IMO skills are underrated because we all cap them accidentally before we pay attention to Mastery Rank. My rank 2 mule has ***for skills (capped sword, marksmanship, and evasion).

Does anyone have a mule with all jobs at 99 and capped skills, but they never bothered doing missions on it beyond access? I'm close to showing that clearing all missions is only worth Rank 2 or 3, so if someone has a Rank 5 mule without significant missions then we can conclude something else is worth a lot.

I dinged Rank 5 after completing my third Outpost supply run.

tl;dr I've never finished RoV or started much of SoA, plus little/no endgame nor addon scenarios. A very lopsided casual playstyle going systematically through release order content. So hopefully there’s something useful to glean from all that.

Question about the MMM titles from Chathachoq.
I have unlocked just the first three (10, 50 and 100 MMM entries) but to make them "unlock" on XIchecklist I need to actually get the titles, and that costs 500 marbles for each swap, right?

Assuming XIChecklist still uses most of the same code from my addon, you'd have to buy it and check your status to get the addon to register the title, since the npc itself doesn't have the flags (just the number of mazes done, and you may not have ever bought the titles).

For what it's worth, if you modify the packets data, the NPC will let you buy the title without the required number of mazes and the addon can register it. But I don't know/doubt if this actually counts as "unlocking" it in your player data, as there's no title bard flag for them, and re-buying the title still costs 500 again I think (if you edit the data again).

For anyone doing ops that require specific timings (never had any problem with Iron Anvil or Crystal Fist myself), would probably suggest you check if you use 60 FPS, since that causes many issues in the game especially during menus.

In fact, you can make many of them trivialized (like Steel Resolve) by lowering the FPS even more below the default 30, down to 10 or 5, as it reduces the speed of the animations and menus and you have way more time to select options. If you're struggling to react fast enough, try that I guess.
