Ever been in a party where they told you to hug Gobs when they readied Bomb Toss cuz they thought it increased their chance of dropping it (i.e. suicide)?

This one has actually become pretty universal across MMOs for melee aoe.

Can't say I ever heard this. I always just ran away so if it were targetted on me, it wouldn't hit the rest of the party, and if it were to suicide, I wouldn't take damage.

Little off topic but I was talking with some folks about something that came back to memory many years later.

A long time ago when getting tatters was a thing of sorts, I was trying to do my Crimson Mask for COR. I found a JP player on my server who had them for 10k each which was a decent price at the time.

I originally found her on this site via looking thru bazaars and contacted her in game asking about the tatters. She said yes so I went to meet up with her and lo and behold she raised the price of the tatters from 10k to 50k each.

Now I was polite about this but while I did smell some ***, I asked her if she would be willing to sell them for 10k each which she had listed before. She lied and told me she never had them for 10k but I pointed out that on ffxiah her bazaar was listed that same day for 10k each.

She tried to backpedal on this and I said "Look, I'm not stupid but if you want, I'll buy them for 20k each but 50k is way too much."

She asked how I knew she had them for 10k and I told her ffxiah tracks people's bazaars and what they have for sale at what prices.

Suffice to say the reaction I got from her was way off from what I expected. She went off the rails and said that I was using a hacking website and that I was trying to cheat in the game.

I sorta blinked at this and told her maybe she should learn to use the internet more instead of blindly accusing people of hacking FFXI.

She then threatened to call a GM on me and I told her to go ahead & to stop trying to rip people off just because someone sent you a /tell asking to buy something in your bazaar & you thought you would be *** slick trying to jack your prices.

I never saw her since then but this thread somehow made me remember that incident from years ago.

More like, all lvl 40-74 rdm and brd not annon on the server being invited to pt but the DRK that’s been seeking pt for the last 2 days gets nothing.

Everyone else on the server like.... I need the stuff from that run to be able to go and do that run.... huh?

Enter mercs, we sold lots of monks clears on valefor and then they went and ate rocks to get the rest of the plasma to get their weapon, or did plasma farm runs where they just killed the trash.
