That's an interesting concept. But I think its probably much simpler than that: they just coded it poorly.
also, this guy pretty much details this entire game's flaws really nicely and the fixes are spot on. If this were implemented, I bet there'd be a ton of happy faces.
Guy has good ideas...and dear lord it's hard to AH on Ambien. I'm out guys, here's to getting some good news tomorrow.
So far, the only stable app I found is Pokemesh. Works like Pokevision; countdown timer, map, etc... but just an app, not via web.
Will test more on this app.
First thoughts: Not sure if its due to the .api junk, but scans seem really slow or not much on them. searched up and down a few local streets, about 8-10 different scans over 5 suburban streets. although the circle is supposed to be the scan radius, I had to scan multiple times to get all the pokemon to appear.
Edit: Turns out my issues were because they were working on things during the time I was testing. Pokemesh update posted around 430am EST. Worth mentioning, notes mentions an "Overlay mode".
Just to confirm the radars not working is more a Niantic thing, they banned all of major cloud providers (AWS, Digital Ocean, etc.) IP ranges so people couldn't run a home-made radar from there.
So, yup, it's a war!
(Sometimes I wonder if I am a masochist... seeing how Square Enix and Niantic have in common of "punishing" player base and still wanting to play their games, I can't get myself away from FFXI or from Pokémon GO!).

Vaporean's "Water Gun" had been nerfed from 10damage to 6damage.
RIP water gun, you will be missed.
On another note, they said they did these changes cause it was apparently too overpowered to say the least. And to give a kind of a mixture of Pokemon to take leads in gyms, not just the usual Vaporean, Snorlax, Lapris.

This is why a few pages back I SPECIFICALLY stated that people should not be spending any stardust just yet at the moment. The game is too early, and balance changes and wild pokemon can be caught anywhere. Don't buy into the IVs hype just yet, they can nerf something just as quickly as it became popular.
The good news is, Vaporeon is still somewhat decent if it has Hydro Pump, since that got a huge buff. Snorlax is fine if it has Zen Headbutt and not Lick, and Lapras (if it has Blizzard) is currently the most OP thing in the game right now. If you have Solar Beam or Hyper Beam also, you're pretty golden as well.

Let's just take a minute to appreciate that when you see this done in videos, they actually have water in them, which weighs the bottle down to land properly. Spark just did it with an empty bottle. He's just that good.
So like, since the update my character will regularly just stop walking along with my movement, like every 5-10 seconds and every time I interact with something (pokestop, gym, pokemon) to the point it is pretty unplayable.
Anyone else having similar issues? I have always had problems before but it has never been this bad.
You mean as in Pokestops keep saying "Try again Later" but don't turn purple or produce items?
Well I've had that too but it wasn't too bad, I just had to reload the app, I'll be walking around and my character will stop moving and won't start again until I restart the app, and it happens 5-10 seconds after launching the app.

Not sure about the latter, as I haven't updated to the new version yet. However, I will say that Battery Saver tends to mess up my game more often than it helps. If I have a stable connection, sure it works here and there. But any time I put my phone in my pocket and don't actively rotate the view, my screen freezes. It could be something similar (a server disconnect, an unstable connection, overheated device).
Overall, the game is so damn buggy, some days its not worth playing. I would re-test the scenario NOT using Battery saver and see if that makes a noticeable difference.
I realize the game itself won't look anything like this until maybe a decade or two of updates, if ever. Even so, I am happy to be alive in this day and age.
For perspective, it is very reminscent but NOT TO BE CONFUSED with Google's April Fool's joke:
