Work so far! Gonna be able to get nyame gear and hopefully unlock empy +3 this week.
What's the thought on the ultimate ambu axe btw? I've been using Decimation over Ruinator due to more SC chaining chances with my pets, and +120% damage on every deci hit looks pretty sexy.

Dolichenus + Vickie is going to be your best combo for a while.
From ambu you also want to get tali'ah manteel +2 and meghanada chausses +2.
Does anyone know if Guttler, Farsha, or Spalirisos additional damage works on counters?
Ninja edit sorry, missed the guttler.
Guttler works, farsha doesn't seem to work, but i might have been very unlucky or missed the chat log, I wasn't testing it really, i was just enjoying the fun.
I think the difference lies in how the axes work.
Guttler gives a boost to you and your pet, so affects the player, not the weapon, while farsha is tied to the axe only.
But if comes out that Farsha works...well, it's the obvious winner
And damn me not thinking about the deliverance, i forgot about that shield.
P.s: You're welcome Gaigin, we gotta help each other mate, it's hard to find dedicated beastmasters like you.
It had me wondering if BST/THF with sneak attack and Farsha AM3 up, targeting a separate monster (so SA doesn’t wear off), with Vickie’s buffs would melt something that has just popped Hundred Fists!
Critical hit counters with a 50% chance to triple the damage, would be broken if it stacked.

Back to unm for the shield now!
I lied, Farsha works with counter.
The lazy part of me is trying REALLY hard not to make one...
I guess WAR would get some mileage out of it too atleast.

I went back 3 pages and couldn't find it. What does this Counter set look like? I don't mind farming the pieces if I don't have it. I could min-max BST for days.

Thanks Skarwind. I also have another question for the group.
What's the best way for Beastmasters to utilize items with Pet Level +1 on them (Glet's feet, Sortie Earring, etc)?
Do we use them at the activation of Call Beast/Bestial Loyalty? Or use them as macro pieces for certain ready moves? (Or maybe in a mode/situation where our pet is TP'ing?)
I imagine if this is the case, then our pet's level is often fluctuating up and down as we change pieces? Is this true?
Have you submitted a bug report that Brave Hero Glenn forgets to sing marches and roll samurai roll when engaged? I'm pretty sure they forgot to implement that
This is scheduled to be corrected in the next version update, yes.
Semi Serious Question: Do any of the prime weapons give the ODT damage to the pets? [...] I assume they are getting pet lvl, accs, and PDL if AM is up, but not the ODD or ODT
You are right, the ODD/OTD is exclusive to the Axe swings and not granted to pets.

It could vary based on playstyle, but I think most BSTs will benefit from using them as part of their physical Ready macros (Pet:DMG bonus in addition to Accuracy/Attack, not to mention the M.Eva boost).
If you find yourself in situations where your pet is TPing and you want to maximize its TP gain, you might opt for pieces with Pet:DA+ instead - so I'll leave that for you to decide on what you value more in the ear/feet slots. :)
Currently on the mythic grind and still not hating it even though I got a bit to go.
Wanted to know for those who have Aymur if it felt like it was worth it?
Beastmaster is the job I have the most fun on but I could also use the funds/time to finish getting Epeo for my Runefencer.
I have no other REMA, just rocking Doli atm.

Absolutely. Probably my favorite (DD) Mythic. With each pet TP move you can feel the DPS increases and not to mention the 500 TP Bonus applied before and after the activation of a Ready Move. Pet Attack Bonus V was +50-60 Pet Attack last I checked, which was admittedly years ago. Also, Occ Attacks Twice/Thrice from AM3 applies to pets as well :)
It's crazy that checkparam works on pets and you won't go back more than 3 pages to find a counter set but you minmax bst all day.
Your answers are all here and in game.
Sir, I have been playing Beastmaster since launch. Also, I posted the first screenshot of /checkparam on the day it was released, 11 years ago, and confirmed that it worked on pets then, too. If something about my post upsets you, please direct your anger and frustration elsewhere. Maybe use that energy to do something constructive.

Thank you Falkirk. I have been out of the BST meta/game for a bit, but I like to go back to every job periodically (all 22) and make sure my sets/lua/etc are all up to date. It goes without saying that BST is my favorite job and the job I have the most fun on. Occasionally, I have to refer to the experts of specific jobs, people like you who play those jobs more regularly. (I can do it myself, of course, but with FFXI, it's very easy to mistakenly prioritize the wrong variables).
Anyway, I appreciate you always being there for the Beastmaster community. :)

You ask other people to answer questions and immediately skip to other topics. You're not contibuting to the community, you continually showing that you're too lazy to find your own answers. When you're confronted about it you try to pull big dog credentials like we all haven't been playing since launch and then you'll start a new thread about how your mule is full of nuts for obscure crafting reasons. Want to mention that your synapse are firing faster than other people while you're at it? Seriously, put in any effort other than open forum, someone find me the answer that's not on this page.
If you've been around and put in so much effort like you say you do. Don't come here to take a ***. Act like you say you are.
Just another player who pumped out relics and mythics with hard bought gil doing 75 content post 99, then botting every trial with easy farm making them attach their self worth to FFXI LOL!
Keep it civil gentlemen. Sometimes people ask questions just to stimulate conversation. No need to be getting all butthurt.
My favorite part of this is someone stepping in to quell rage over someone asking questions. If you are not interested in answering the questions, simply don't?
Second favorite part is a moderator reaching into their toolbox and coming out with "butthurt" in the name of diplomacy.
I will stay the course then! Appreciate the replies. For fencer builds, is it usually TP bonus main hand or bust? Seen a few different builds floating around but they usually are for a specific weaponskill. In my head Aymur doesn't seem like a bad candidate for an allrounder due to the aftermath for TP gain.

I want to start with saying you should do whichever path you feel is the most fun, that's always best. However, I will say that given a choice between Epeolatry and Aymur I would recommend Epeo every time and I don't even have RUN unlocked. That Ergon weapon would get you roughly 100% more group content than Aymur would. Total assumption on my part but if you are close to upgrading Epeo with RUN I am thinking you enjoy parties and progression.
Shouting "Epeo RUN looking for more" vs "Aymur BST looking for more" will produce polar opposite results. With the right gear a Dolichenus. (Or R15 Guttler/Pangu if you want to spend a bit) would be just fine for BST. Playing RUN at a high level will get you better access to gear for your BST. Precisely the reason I play PLD... Just a vehicle to get more BST things.
Hey does anyone know how to set the macro for tp drainkiss and like mew lullaby that tells how much it drained or dropped tp too I saw a guy doing this and forgot to ask? Or am I crazy?
Also I don't know if its been answered or not but items that like boost tp bonus for suc and ready do they need to be on during the pre cast or midcast?

Equipment that increases Pet TP Bonus needs to be worn during midcast.
With the help of a Level Sync assistant it was possible to evaluate the power of magical damage Ready Moves at a wide variety of levels.
This opportunity led to a better understanding of how some of these moves increase in power level by level.
For reference, here is the Pet MAB chart:

Magical Ready Attacks scale up linearly as Pets gain levels.
There were several batches of tests, divided up by whether or not the Jug Pet in question was a WAR job or not -
and then further divided depending on if its damage varied with TP.
The linear scaling was consistent with testing from 2021 that showed growth values by level
(and also indicated that several Magic Ready Moves share the same base damage value).
I'm still parsing through the large amount of data, but one such find was that when you account for MAB differences:
Purulent Ooze, Foul Waters, Pestilent Plume and Venom Shower all share the same growth value (14).
Speaking of data, here's one of the multitude of tables (collected by a BST that has no Job Points or Master Levels):

It's not really possible to exactly know the pet's MaxHP since
it is estimated by using Healing Salve I and multiplying by 2.
Close enough!
All Aqua Breath Damage tests for the chart were performed at 100% HP.
When CrudeRaphie takes damage and dips below full health, the Aqua Breath Damage begins to lower.
I tried to get a screenshot of the minimum possible value, but getting a Pet to exactly 1 HP is a tricky matter.
The closest I got was 4 HP (with 20 Ready Job Points):
floor((4 HP + 300) * 1.2) = 364
SE put a clamp on how powerful Aqua Breath gets however, capping out at 4000 MaxHP (4300 damage).
Ready Job Points (+20% Ready damage) improve this value to 5160.
Normally, when it comes to discussions about Pet: MaxHP this would be the perfect time to talk about Emicho Haubert +1 Path D... however by the time a BST is level 99, CrudeRaphie will already have at least 4000 HP.
As far as other ways to modify Aqua Breath damage, here was a test from a BSTbro many years ago:
