If Protectra 5 is 205 it looks like it's missing the 5/5's +25 def bonus from Piety Relic.

Wonder if it's meant to be, if it's a bug, or if it's an error on BG-wiki.

I guess the same applies to Shellra V then.


How much does Protect5 gives now, from a non WHM job like SCH, PLD or RDM?

Regular ProtectV or "regular" ProtectraV?

Old single target Protect V gave 175, not sure how much it gives now and if this value is enhanced if a WHM casts it rather than a SCH, RDM or PLD.

We exist. We're not happy about it but there's not much to be done. I really enjoyed the old mechanic of Esuna but I guess I have to get a Yag now to make life easier.

Probably an oversight from the augment text on the item being retrieved from the protectra v merit point category slot, which has now been changed.

Experienced some issues with Holy 2 earlier, seemed like the recast timer was displaying incorrectly. Anyone else?

No, they give an additional bonus to Holy casted under Solace.

Like 3 different people said it didn't.

There's no reason Esuna should be made AOE, it's already incredibly powerful as is. And no, you don't deserve to remove amnesia on a 2 second timer. It can already be reduced to 24 seconds if you're getting marches, and you can pop celerity too if needed.

This is a substantial buff, and anyone saying otherwise or downplaying it has a horrible grasp of mechanics.

Not sure what adjustments you wanted or expected from a job that has never lacked relevancy.

I am pleased with these adjustments; I see a potential raising of the skill ceiling through invocation of stance considerations, cureskin boosted which might see full-cure being more useful, nukes boosted. It appears that the intended purpose of the update was to revive some lesser used spells/abilities and shaft Asclepius owners rather than pander to someone who was going to moan regardless of what was implemented.

Overall, I’m happy but it’s really going to suck for non-Yagrush WHMs now for months like Meebles or Velkk now that they don’t have the old Esuna. The people complaining about needing a Yagrush to do stuff will have more ground to stand on now for those events. That or the BRDs will have to put away their daggers and the Geos can’t afk so they can help the WHMs out.

Meebles was only one debuff per 30 seconds, you could still use accession and divine seal to make it several minutes, just don't blow charges on the less problematic ones and you can go forever.
Or, just keep up with your barspells(as if everyone wasn't botting it anyway).

Using esuna prior to patch was almost always foolish, divine caress/divine seal/accession used intelligently could handle just about everything besides multi-party status removal. I'm not too worried about non-yagrush players.

Far from foolish to use Esuna in those encounters and you are underselling its benefits to The WHMs without Yagrush or even those with it for timesaving (though that second point isn’t a big deal). And plenty of people don’t bot so Esuna last month was quite helpful.

Really wish they moved yags bonus to empy head and given yag something else. With yag, head becomes mostly useless, so i dont see the point in having it on the head and yag.

This update is great. I second what somebody else said, it seems they're trying to make all parts of all jobs relevant, and improving unused abilities.

By the way, i can see Asclepius being their first attempt to improve Esuna, then they forgot they made it, they made this new change, and went "oh crap what about this", and added the cure effect...

Finally being able to remove Amnesia is pretty huge but the minimum 24 second recast + high MP cost is pretty taxing. That isn't including the JA delay between switching. Given how Cureskin got even stronger (yay) the cost of swapping to Misery is even more taxing than before.

It is definitely a nice boon, but still really restrictive, also currently a pretty strong buff to actual player WHMs vs. Bot WHMs.

The Relic augments for the new passives are dumb and the sacrifice change... is interesting.

Does Divine Benison apply to recast? I wonder if that works for Esuna.

Will allow us to also one shot impact removals, but yeah.... 24s is a bit much. Anything that can apply these debuffs will likely do so again within that timeframe.

Sacrifice change is good, assuming misery is 100% prevention. Actually usable now. But will be hilarious if a solace whm can petri themselves.

Sacrifice is basically just another Esuna under Misery (it sounds like you completely resist the status effects under it) so it’s pretty nice even if it kind of kills its identity.

Also it’s going to take getting used to and not doing it under Solace and getting yourself petrified/silenced lol.

From the way I read it, its pretty much just Erase while under Misery and death while under Solace.

It seems to be just one status ailment and doesn't seem to include amnesia.

If it’s down to one status effect under Misery then it’s pretty much trash so hopefully they moved that bonus from Solace to Misery instead of just dropping it entirely.

I mean don't you have -nas/ Erase + Yagrush already?

Idk this turned Esuna from a super duper niche spell to a Niche spell and I think that is about as good as you can get.

The Cure-all Status Ailment effect is pretty massive and Amnesia finally being included is icing on the cake.
