Hard to describe the feeling when you just open your company laptop, and a message pops up saying it need to shut down and stand still for 7 minutes because of updates.

As an user, this is quite infuriating. But as an employee, in theory this is the company time being wasted. Im being paid for those 7 minutes plus coffee break time so its a mix of fury and whatever.

Actually it was in the 20th century that fat became problematic.

I was a fat kid. In the 1950s at family gatherings my great aunts used to pinch my cheek affectionately and tell my grandmother "Rose you have a healthy one here."

Healthy meant fat. In a positive way. For kids at least. Until the 1920s it applied to adults that way too.

Well they "have it" meaning they have episodes 5,13,14,16,35,40,44,46,48,54... WTF who did this why did they do it and all it did was make my mad when i say it and watched to watch it with my son. I click play and am greeted with the opening to episode 5, mind boggling decision.

Idk if it is to prevent anyone from having it so they just license a couple episodes or some kinda "research" was done and they found "people seem to like to watch these episodes so that is all we need"

I'm gonna be sad whenever my Sortie group eventually has to move on from Sortie for whatever reason.

I don't think it'll be any time soon, but I've got good buddies in it now, and it's succeeded in pulling my brother out of his Loner mode kinda-sorta.

But I really have to bare down hard, and get some sorta work sooner or later. Schedules may change for myself or other members, I mean heck, one of them is a DOCTOR!

But they're all such cool dudes. We're regularly killing Hardmode Aminon now, basically every other day. Set to finish multiple Stage 5s whenever he coughs up that 4th Meso.

I guess I'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts, as much as I can. Dang ole mortal conundrum, human condition, I tell you h'wut!

Managing a group over 2.5 years and seeing people leave, join, leave.... even having people that left sometimes a year prior rejoin...

it's been really difficult. When you're doing a daily activity 7 days a week you build a camaraderie. People's job situation changing, or getting burnt out, has felt like losing a friend at times.

Will say, leading a group for so long is a testament to your ability as a leader. And it shows with how many people want to join that group.

I know how hard it is to keep everyone on the same page with groups like that, and how few people want to lead and be the "bad guy" at necessary times.

I did see that and thought it was weird. I have been able to watch the original full seasons on Hulu, but because its bundled with Disney maybe they removed some.

While also those free sites and such are nice to watch them, its not really convenient on a TV. I know toei uploaded the entire 50 episodes of the first season onto youtube but idk if its still there.



Yeah, I led an LS for almost a decade. While I enjoyed my time and met so many cool people, I will never lead again in a video game. It is not worth it at all, all the stress and ***you take for doing something for free on a video game you're suppose to be enjoying. I found it much easier to run smaller statics and I continued to do that until my RL work overtook everything and I had no time to commit to any group.

It must be 10x harder now that the game is a lot more laid back and everyone is doing adult stuff and has less free time. Especially during the time where SE did another one of their "No more updates, games good" and people saw no future for the game, a lot quit during that time. Nowdays maybe its easier because everyone and their grandma has a mule to substitute when someone quits but I'm sure its still a hassle.

For what it's worth you were damn good at it and left a lasting impact on some of us. You still get brought up sometimes when Mel and I reminisce about our old FFXI days.

The Blender tutorial was going smoothly till the moment I created a rig and... it didnt work! My character didnt move.

Considering rigging is a very complex topic where I will need to study that by itself, I just stopped for a bit in Blender with the basic knowledge to pick it again in a few months.

For now, gonna invest in pixel arts, another one of the artistic skills I have in mind to leverage (the others are 2D and 3D animation, plus drawing for comics), and I could be wrong in this one, but feels like pixel arts is the easiest one to learn and monetize out of those 4 main artistic niche Im aiming for.

But there will be whining.

Glad to hear that, hope you two are doing good! Its nice to see your name here. Those were def the highlights of my time doing it during that era of the games life. I had so much fun then.

3rd string is a 21 yr old 2nd round pick in NCAA. Maybe the starter in 2030 Olympics.
