My company asked me to budget out hardware to purchase back in late 2024. Were not a huge company but I was given a 500k to come up with a list of hardware we need to upgrade. I picked out 6 servers and a nice SAN with 40TB of SSD space. They approved it ~18 months later. In those 18 months, that shopping list got ***: 6 servers turned into 3, 40TB of SSD space turned into 18TB of SSD space and 20ish TB of HDD space.

It's also of very important note that consoles are loss leaders, to get you go buy games, and ps5 has been out for SIX YEARS and has less than a whole handful of games specific to PS5 to buy. It is failing at loss leading. This is the 3rd or 4th price increase, they've broken the unspoken contract.
