Yea, the details are really what make it embarassing. I don't think it's possible to keep someone completely safe out in the open like that, an assassin with sufficient skill and dedication will eventually find and exploit an opening. They only need to succeed once, the SS has to succeed every time.
But, that's not what happened. Some loser with no experience took a shot from one of the best vantage points at a range any professional could've hit from. What are they even being paid for if they missed that?
