Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
By Kalila 2015-02-10 21:31:32
Best to never use this phrase senorita; it sounds extremely stupid because there are no degrees of uniqueness. either you are one of a kind or you are not etc. Using too strict of the definition I feel. He stands out in my eyes, being unique apart from the average singer recognized today. you conveying feeling he's unique is understandable yeah, but accidentally making yourself sound like an idiot for no reason is unnecessary and not what you wanted to convey. If you want to see me as an idiot that's your choice, not saying you are, but anyone has that right. I'm not trying to portray myself as perfect, I make plenty of mistakes.
I use language to express my thoughts and feelings, not to be grammatically correct in the eyes of english majors and the grammar police of the world.

I don't see you as an idiot, I just didn't want you haphazardly using that phrase when referring to something that matters in your life (like trying to convey intelligence in a job interview or something someday and not knowing what it really conveys etc)
You're being very rude, you know. She obviously knows all of this but you're treating her like an idiot.

If only it were that easy.
Perhaps I should go into some detail and explain.
I write reviews. That's my thing. I play games, I review them, simply because I like doing so. Today I actually posted my 100th review.
Anyway, a few days ago I was invited to join a group and offered a gig writing reviews for it's curation page. I was offered free game keys in exchange for doing so. I accepted. Who doesn't like free games? The person who recruited me asked me to review a few games, and gave me keys for them. I more or less took his own review format (which is pathetic compared to what I use) and wrote some lackluster reviews for him. He asked that I copy/paste some of the reviews to him so he could post them under his account/his name. I wasn't overly thrilled about it, but hey - free games. Figured I'd ride it out for awhile. He was apparently easy to please.
Anyway, I did this for about 6 games:
Shovel Knight
War, The Game
Mims The Beginning
Seven Kingdoms 2 HD
GRAV
Terra Incognita: Chapter 1 - The Descendant
Anyway, today I get home from work about an hour ago, and was linked to this discussion post and this image, and asked to downrate this guy's review of the game. Being a neutral party, I really don't give a ***about this drama, but seeing as how the guy asked me to downrate the others one's reviews makes me think twice about leaving this gig, since he'll just ask his crew to downrate all of my reviews.

<(O.o)> Crappola, I think I bit off too much on this one.
I have a few companies that was interested in me learning Collision and Auto Inspecting and Estimates on damage. The problem I am having, you practically have to know detailed information on cars, materials and different parts used...
but.. you have to know how damage effects other parts like a impacts and the vehicle crumple zones.
Even after reading all this information, probably going through some courses and classes, I really can't say I would want to do this for a living. Almost at this point, with certain newer GM models, I can tell you more than the basic engineering that went into making a car.
:| OH yeah, I also need to now rules for body shops and repairs so I would be able to write a good estimate on getting vehicles repaired. So I would need to know most of their procedures and time frame.
While there are books and computer programs that give you all diagrams and information, I am one of those people that would like to be able to give you most information off the top of my head. The most accurate information, instead of the advertised info? Like how wait times are supposed to be X amount of time, when then end up being Z amount of time because A, B, and C reasons?

Do what's honest. Whether or not they downrate all your reviews just shows how petty they are, considering the guy is already extremely petty for asking you to downrate someone else's review. Which, is subjective anyways. And apparently can't handle that. From an ethical standpoint, are the game keys worth selling out?

Also, the guy clearly does not understand the nuance of "Neutral Party".

I really didn't get anything valuable out of all this. Even though Shovel Knight is awesome....I could have bought it myself. So no, it's not worth it. Although I really don't want to risk getting my stuff downvoted either, because I'm trying to setup a niche group for myself writing reviews, and I'm just now getting up on my feet with it.
I'll probably just stop responding to the guy when he asks me to review things, ignore his invites to chat, and just let him get tired of my non-responsiveness and boot me.

Writing well informed reviews with as little bias as possible, unless you are writing it from a subjective point of view (recognizing what you don't like, how well you adjust to the controls, etc.) will be more beneficial long term in building that niche of followers who also enjoy the game.
I'm lazy as *** when it comes to writing on command, so I couldn't possibly do the in-depth reviews needed to sway readers into trying, or staying away from games.

No doubt Sam Smith is talented though, and his winning song was well deserved. I just think they should limit the amount of categories one song/artist can win. media likes to do that sort of stuff though, and fans love it too. It's just the way the business works.

Josi, stop flipping vehicles. As a counter measure, at least leave it to a minimum of flipping large furniture.

anywho when ya going to make an excalibur char jos?
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
