I used to always take the tomatoes off of my burgers.
Left them on one day, NEVER TURNED BACK.

Ketchup is a must for me, but I love ketchup on nearly everything. The first time I made Ovr a burger, he had me put mayo and ketchup on his. I thought he was nasty, but the combo is pretty fantastic.
mayo ketchup lettuce tomato cheese bacon pickles or take off the mayo, ketchup and pickles. add bbq sauce and sauteed pineapple slices

Still remember,the best burger I've EVER had (and likely ever will have) was an ultimate bacon double cheese burger from jack in the box when I was in the US. Ordered it with ONLY the bacon/cheese on it,no sauces,no rabbit food,no nothing else (buns obviously) but it was the best thing ever,and nothing will likely ever top it. I dont eat burgers from places here,except once every 3 or 4 years I'll have an XL bacon double cheese burger from burger king. Which is "meh" on its best day
Lettuce/awesome cheese/awesome ham/awesome mustard sandwiches are awesome.

The best burger I ever had only had cheese on it. A friend of my brother made some for supper one night when I was at their house. It didn't need a speck of anything on it at all, it was so amazing and I've never had another like it. I'd stack less crap on my burgers if they all tasted like that one did.
