Not being into vampires is one thing(and perfectly fine obviously, lol) but the whole "oh I know NOTHING about his works or himself, but he MIGHT have been the cause of Twilight, so not a fan"... that... I just >.>;! You aren't that old yet, Mag!
Not yet! You're right though, I was making an assumption based upon ignorant thought processes. To be fair, I'll put Dracula on my "to read list" for this summer.
I haven't read it since I was in HS, I should do so again but I don't have it here with me. Hrm!
Long book is long.

$3.15!

And at the bottom... Dracula, Frankenstein, and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for $6.30. I'm tempted to buy them myself.

Edit: And it's only something like 326 pages in paperback form... That's pretty much standard length for most books I normally read, if not a bit short. In response to:

Tangible stuff for humans is innately satisfying. This is why so many things are touchscreen nowadays, or that's what my Critical Thinking professor told me.

Gotta be careful with that, too. There's just a little bit of mercury in every fish, but a lot of that can do damage.

This is why I prefer writing to reading. Writing is why I got into the English game to begin with. I hadn't even read a piece of classical literature until about a year and a half ago when I had to read a ton of it in my first semester at ASU. I basically had to sink or swim, and I damn near sank. But now... well, y'know.

Oh, I've not read much of anything that can be considered classical literature. But even with my modern books, ~300 pages in paperback form is pretty average for what I tend to read.

I have a hardcover copy of The Stand from 1978 that my mom gave me... 823 pages. The unabridged paperback copy is 1153 pages according to Amazon.

When it comes to certain types of books, though, I really prefer short stories. Horror and suspense fiction that is 10-20 pages long is some of the best stuff I've read.

Stephen King's story Rainy Season is particularly unusual. It's in this book.

Edit: And apparently in the early 2000's they made it into a movie or something? Weird.

No joke dude, you should read Stephen Crane. He has some of the best short stories I've ever read.

As far as recreational reading, I forgot that I used to read the Wheel of Time series, and some of those books can get... long winded. I have the latest book out right now, but I haven't read it, yet.

I should read a lot of books.

This has been my favorite series for the longest time now. I'm missing one current book out of that whole list. The only other two I haven't read are a short story and a graphic novel.

I got on FFXI for the first time in like 6 months, and started to duo levels on BRD. I had more fun doing that than I ever did in VW or Abyssea >.>

so I think I found what I'm going to do in game for awhile.
