Mostly wondering for Fimbulvetr with Utu Grip.
Grip makes it a 60% STR 10% DEX 60% VIT WS from how I understand stuff like Utu/Crep knife/Flametongue.
That WS has huge fTP/tp ratio and being single hit, I dont see anything coming closer of Moonshade in normal WS spam situation

Gaining AM3 is just as easy. Abuse retaliation, save meditate, get mobs on you.
Even if mobs die from 1 WS there's still value. Can tab target WS on a seperate mob while your white dmg melts the primary.

thanks, will try vidmapire for awhile, if i don't get it after i run out of accolades i'll do legion

It seems pretty clear to me from the FFXIDB data that the best source is Legion, Hall of Mul.
Bad news: the drop rate is god awful.
Good news: With proper gear/jobs/buffs, you can murder dozens of them per run.

Where/what is the best place/thing to farm Dark carol II? (or i supppose Carol II in general,) Is that one of the ones that comes from Legion? I remember Dark and maybe Wind being hard to get; they might have come primarily from the Voidwatch and Legion battles of their time.

The longer I play WAR and the more toys I pick up for it, the more I work out that it's pretty "right-tool-for-the-job". Some are multi-purpose, some are less so.
WAR/DRG with Naegling is my pick when the target is either going to die very quickly and TP gain doesn't matter as much (e.g. C seg farms, Sortie A-D bosses) or is going to live long enough and is threatening enough that enmity actually matters (e.g. Dyna-D W3 boss). Substitute in Loxotic Mace +1 for slashing resist mobs or to avoid the wall.
WAR/SAM with Chango has always pulled far ahead of other options for me when I've got the chance to self-SC freely (e.g. dumpstering Ou in Omen, certain Naakuals in Sortie, and Limbus).
WAR/SAM with Laphria is my all-rounder, except when I need to avoid certain skillchains (e.g. Sortie E boss). It hits about as hard as Naegling's Savage Blade, pound for pound, with quicker TP gain and opportunity to skillchain incidentally with others or myself if the chance comes up.
WAR/SAM with Ukonvasara if amnesia or TP wipe is a big feature of the fight (e.g. Moogle ambu), if I don't feel like thinking very hard and focus on getting uptime, or if I've got a particular suite of buffs that support the AM3 proper.
WAR/SAM with Shining One pulls ahead versus piercing weak mobs.
WAR/NIN with Ikenga's/TP Bonus OH for winging out Mistrals if I'm feeling froggy in Limbus or Dyna-D and want shadows, great for sniping skillchains with DDs working across the pack.
Farsha fencer build on deck for things like v25 Kalunga where you can do Naegling-like damage and avoid walling others, really taking advantage of the fencer trait.
I love Ukon to death, but it doesn't achieve its full potential if you're only getting bog-standard DD buffs and only fighting mobs that die in a single weaponskill.

Laphria is just easier to use by comparison without relying on aftermath upkeep. Ukon in segments is really nice when BRD is pulling multiple camps and you can pick and choose targets based on damage type and when AM3 is already dropping. Only time I have ever really liked it in Segments. Also use Double COR

Chanti's always been one of the cooler heads, very reasonable. Very experienced. Probably a bombshell back in her day, too, I'd wager! Still is and always will be ;)

Hate to necro bump a thread, but could someone post the gear set they use for Absorb TP? Both pre-cast and mid-cast please? Our group has started to get 4-5 boss runs down so want to start looking at what I need to start working on for Absorb TP as a Cor. Code sets.precast.FC = {

I lost all interest when it wasn't open source. The biggest reason being there's no ability to check what you wrote.
Even if it's a website, no reason you actually have to host it. You can just download it locally and opening the site.
