No idea what buffs were run, how well geared the players were, what you were fighting, was attack capped, what TP value the WS were used at, was def-% on the target? 35k is quite low for a Prime SAM, but if we are talking about a Limbus mob or something, that changes everything.

Anyways, from my observations from other SAMs who have it, it's at least on par with Masamune at 4 (I beat a P4-SAM in Segs with Masamune, but I have R30 Nyame vs his R25, so that's not really a 1:1 comparison), and is much stronger than Masamune at 5. I'd say you're going to be like 15-20% higher WS damage using P5 Mumei vs Fudo.

My Doji, 500jp, ambu gear Sam can probably do 20k fudo. I saw some prime geared sam doing 35k on the same mob. Big difference but probably not that big.

The plunge is just grinding points/psyches, which is time gated. Deciding to start down this path now has no bearing on how strong the weapon is, you can just grind the points and decide later what you want to do with them. Don't have to decide right now.

Since so many endgame zones have perma dark weather, isn't chatoyant kinda situational to grab nowadays?

What content in 2025 simultaneously has enough dmg output where you wanna pop off max cures, but doesn't have dark weather to *** up your ele bonus? Omen?

I was sorta assuming nowadays a whm is more focused on mp sustain, i have no idea though.

How much of a lead does Kusanagi have over Masamune? I’m considering making a Prime but it’s a LONG Time investment so I want to know what I’m looking at before taking the plunge here, if it makes any sense.

What are we looking at? 10% Better? 20%? Moot-Point because even Masa is Capped at High-Buff?

Or if this was already discussed at length elsewhere, if I could have the link, I’ll pipe down and go read there.

On that subject, do you suggest Whms just eat the ilvl drop from Chatoyant or is there another option? For both weather and non-weather cures.

Personally I dislike using non-ilvl weapons in the main slot, especially if whm is getting hit or in range of aoes.

I would never use it for any cures under any circumstance, personally. It's nice for fast cast, if you don't mind weapon (type) swapping or if you have it in your idle set. It's also a nice idle piece.

Mostly it's a reraise v stick. Beyond that, the other stats are very unimpressive in the grand scheme of things. For WHM anyway

I ended up picking up Pandit staff on my WHM not seeing much about it in any guide as to where it stacks against others... should I push for Chatoyant Staff or Raetic Rod +1 or is Pandit going to fill my cure casting roles and I should skip the rest?

I also think its important to realize this is 2000 actual people, not 2000/6 like on other servers or retail. It also is going to massively boom come TOAU launch which WILL happen, its just a matter of time. If the LS's I am in are any indication from people who are "taking a break until toau" population will 2-3x easily, and I know other players on other private servers who simply didnt make the move yet due to no toau who will probably end up on Horizon long term once that does happen. That will create a slippery slope causing those PS to have massive population decline and ultimately close, and all those players will ultimately end up where?

Would not suprise me seeing Horizon with 6k+ active players, however I think long term 4k will probably be more realistic but you never know, No one expected as much success as it had already.

Wont disagree that them delaying due to rebase has caused some population decline (-500 tops from like 1.5 yrs ago), but it is not as drastic as some make it out to be. It is ALWAYS and I need to emphasis ALWAYS above 2k pop during NA primtime, and generally during afternoon hours it goes over 2k and during what you would consider normal hours of playtime. Right now for example would be considered pretty much dead time and there is 1615 on a monday at 10am pst and I am confident in 2-4 hours it will it 2k+ like clockwork, because ffxi players treat this game like a second job.

When the weekend rolls around it basically never drops below 2k and generally spikes above 2500 when you would expect it to.

This has been extremely consistent over the last year, I think this is more or less the pletaue of people who are just HNM grinders or relic seekers at this point who are playing. There will always be a good handle of new people trying out te server too as it is by far the best private server option available if you want that era experience of playing with a good chunk of real people. Other private servers may offer more content but they wont have enough playerbase for most.

It is kinda weird right, the only other thing I can assume is the individual has a crafting shield on some char and they actually use the materials. (Which is why we dont see many penelope cloths moving on the AH)

But how many penelopes cloths does someone need, on average (assuming max crafting setup) to make 1 full set of Jinxed Jackets/Bonnets/Kecks?

while theoretically possible, this setup requires way too much effort. ain't nobody got time for all that. you have to get new trophies every mul run, and while there is some demand for arise scrolls or honors for the reisenjima goblin, you wouldn't make it your primary focus.
