Unrelated, but after the gym, I checked my weight after maybe 3 months when I slowed down my exercises.

Result: extra 3kg since then.

Total around 8kg I was to burn, to get back to my usual form.

A lot of work ahead.

Though, maybe part of this extra weight are just my muscle growing. Still, I prefer having less muscle and less weight.

I always tried to write things I get from insights, but so far, it was either written in a lost piece of paper or a lost word file I will never find again, or buried in my near 17k of quality posts on FFXIAH.

But the thing is, SaaS came in handy for me. Now, I have one word file on my OneDrive, and have been dropping my ideas there.

So, now Im managing to retain my insights instead of losing them.

I already had 5 or 6 pieces of medias, from comics, games and even an animation, maybe.

Out of all of those, yesterday I came up with a new one, and that tends to be my first proprietary piece of media.

Yeah, Ive been reading some manga and even manhwas romcoms, and while cute and such… TBF it is all very distant from my own reality.

As a brazillian, obviously there is a gap in culture and style regarding romance and stories in general.

So, writing a story with same genre of most popular mangas, but using brazillian style, surely will be something most never saw before, and can even be interested.

So, my first piece of media will be a romcom, slightly based on my own history and my own context, plus a style that wont be that filled of japanese cliches.

I already layout all the series, layed out the first chapters so Im impressed how much progress I got from a couple of hours thinking.

Next step is to think the storyboard of it.

We will see.

Stay tuned to know how my life was in terms of romance

I suppose he popped both the select able NM and the random pop one on first floor while doing the select able one first cause if the random one pops gloios without being prepared the run ends, or at least it was that way for me on BLU solo.
Doing both helps speed progress up early on but stops helping much once you cleared most of them 6 times.

You can do the same on B but with at least Taniwha and Kuk being a potential run stopper it's more risky but maybe still worth it early on. For Most of the B NMs 1-2 trust tanks will buy you enough time to deal with the adds, at least if you already leveled MM a bit from shoel A.

I suppose he could have went GEO/BLM and tractor if mimic pops but I guess it doesn't matter much because if you target chests you'll be close to out of time anyway when you gathered enough points to upgrade to aurum.

It takes forever and since it only opens up a fraction of gaol even at max MM I don't get why they made it this way.

Wrt synergy - I don't think it matters.

It takes an average number of interactions to skill up, more the higher the skill level. Doesn't matter if recipe is 10 or 30 levels above, as long as it is enough to give you skill ups.

The game is keeping feeding as long as possible without interruptions, meaning more interactions in an amount of time. For that you don't want explosions so you don't get a forced animation lock. Feed up to 25, safety lever, repeat.

Doesn't matter the element as long as it's required by synth. Doesn't matter if it gets capped.

Recipes 30-40 skills higher will still give you skill ups, but will blow up in ~3 feeds if you don't safety lever. That wastes time.

A recipe 10 above will let you feed ~5 times before safety lever.

So since DT doesn't work, it seems to me if you want to optimize your gear for these fights you should swap out DT for max hp gear.

Also for science should probably try the +dt gear lol a lot of it has really high +hp

And how long will it take for "10 PLD's with Sentinel, Rampart, Invincible" to kill something with a couple million HP?

If there are also 45 buffed DDs attacking it (Asura)? 2 minutes? Depends how many millions I guess. With 4 DDs, my group typically kills the w3 bosses in about 11-12 minutes, including 16 adds. W3 bosses have 20m HP i think?

Skyrocket their hp? Their def? Their att?

Def and hp just mean you're bored fighting a toothless enemy a bit longer while it whack you with a limp noodle. Not sure how that's a solution. Boost its atk either makes a PLD take real threatening damage (the thing we're trying to fix), or it isn't enough and they still laugh at your pitiful attack.

We know FFXI mechanics, come up with a solution. Go ahead. SE are obviously too stupid to see the obvious solution which is....?

Had a question about synergy leveling. It has been a decade or more since I last touched it. Was reading BG page and unclear about picking max level and spamming. Is it make for that rank or max max? Any tips would be wonderful. I do have the model furnace when I do finish it to 80(still the cap) thanks.
Found it best when I leveled it to stick with recipes 20~30 levels higher than my current skill for best gain rate.

Feed Fewell is the most reliable skill up part of it, and you have to feed an element that the synth needs.

Then for your skills you wanna take Feed Fewell and Operate Safety Leer to level 5 skill rank.

Synergy recipes with Earth are optimal in my experience, as you can block the intended debuff with Haste(2). Let'em blow up all over you, unless you feel like wasting Dark Fewell to get a feel for swapping between Safety Lever and Feeding.

What were the posts removed from the FFXI arts thread?

Did I commit any crime drawing booty galkas?

I completed a few more things that may impact Mastery Rank recently, including completely finishing Monstrosity (all monsters at level 99), finishing up another Prime weapon, and finally pulling the trigger and doing a race change to get the 'Consort Candidate' title. I'm still Rank 9, but I decided to put together a list of accomplishments (and to-dos) to that might be helpful for anyone else chasing Mastery Rank:

Mastery Rank Completion

I placed exclamation marks next to the things I'm currently tracking as 'incomplete' that may affect Mastery Rank. I decided to put all of this information into a node so that I can update it as I go to use as a checklist for my Rank 10 climb.

So the solution is to zero out shield blocks, phalanx, DT, etc, annul all of it and make them *** useless?

Is there an addon alternative to Scoreboard?
Addon, not external software (like kparser etc)

This is basically what I did. IIRC I did:
It's more or less what I did on Sheol A solo, before I got bored after a few weeks.
You don't mention NMs though.
How did you pop them and when?

There's 16 NMs in Sheol A and you need to kill them at least 6 times each.
If you do one per run that's at least 96 runs or 96 days.

NMs are easy when popped on floor 1, from a Solo perspective I found only Gloios (the slime) dangerous.
Their strength scales up pretty quickly though. Still somewhat doable if you pop them on floor 3, past that it gets tough for solo and, I assume, even for duo.
You went THF/NIN + GEO you said, right?

Also how did you handle Mimics popping up from Aurum Chest? I bet it wasn't easy on THF+GEO if it popped on an upper floor, especially if there were mobs around etc.

Sheol B has even more NMs and they pop with adds and frankly I didn't have much time or will to even try B solo. My mastery in B is just level 4 or something.

My beef with both is neither is alliance content AND you can't stack entries (like Omen).
I do consider Sortie a good content, I don't hate it. I can talk in hindsight now though, given how "old" the content is.
These are the problems they failed to realize imho:

1) There's too much walking. It's good for the pace of the event, but considering it lasts 1hr once you've been doing it almost daily for a long time, it gets on your nerves

2) I get how they wanted to slow down people obtaining Primes, but considering they put a minimum 6 months wait due to psyches, was it all that necessary to require so much Galli? Especially for the last stage? (which is not a big deal for who does 9bosses runs everyday but it's such a minority among players I don't think it matters)

3) Using the same currency for Empy upgrades AND primes was a bad choice imho. Could've easily solved this by allowing a second method to upgrade using the excess of mats you get regardless (Sapphires, Starstones, you name it) but nope.

4) No KI storing for an event you're supposed to do everyday to even remotely get close to the 6 months period for a weapon is maybe not a big deal, but for an event that lasts 1hr it really builds up on your "stress".

Despite the flaws I mentioned, I think Sortie was a really well thought event with a lot of variety on approaches etc. Thumb up to them.

Question for who played RDM in 8+ boss melee setup sortie.

Which debuffs do you use on which boss and how do you prioritize them?
On D/H boss, how do you handle the elemental proccing?

Thanks!

I was trying to find another dual wield option as it felt like an eternity when dual wielding axes. Agree that single wield might be the way to go for now.

In a side note, it’s refreshing to see bst benefiting from limbus gear :)

I have a R30 ikenga's axe and it's a good toy.
It shines with Tri-Edge main and Calamity spam.
However, if one day (huge IF) I'll get the perfect augments on Digirbalag (QA + DA) i think i'll go for it when wearing 5/5 Duty max augments (so 2027 i guess).

People are complaining that the NM's are never up and they never get to fight them.

I wish people on my server fought them more often. Last month I took out 13/22 NM's in Apollyon on my server.

That’s the other half of the problem. Imho I’m not impressed with the way this system is designed give it a year and some servers won’t have access to the crafted limbus gear at all and others still will leave most of the players out of the NM fights. Imho the real solution is to go back to a weekly evaluation period and merge some of these nearly dead servers but of course those bring their own problems

Limbus obviously wasn't balanced so 'only bleeding edge players can complete it'. It's time consuming but easy and inclusive. Everyone gets the same rewards if they use their spins.

Odyssey was built from the ground up to be scalable so anyone could work through it at the level they could handle and progress(RP) still saves if you ever move onto higher levels. If you actually did V15s for RP before V20 was released, you cleared V20s a lot faster. You do need to group, but it's a MMO.. that's to be expected. You don't need an amazing group to clear V15s or V20s with gear that's now widely available like emp+2/3 and limbus armor.

"But Thorny, it would take sooooo long to do RP at v15 and then do it again at v25!" ... That's what all the 'cutting edge' players did, though. We capped our gear at each release so we'd be ready for the next one. It's even easier than that now, because you can just ride-along for V25 RP.

Same goes for Sortie. You don't need amazing gear to clear a downstairs boss with a few people, metals, and 1hrs. You can still get a stage 4 prime doing that, it'll just take ~6x longer than a group doing 9/9s.

It doesn't seem to me that SE is designing content for bleeding edge players. Everything has a slower and easier option. Seems more like people who are still playing a game that's never respected your time are upset the game doesn't respect their time. Add a side dose of being upset that having a coordinated group and better gear gets you more progress than soloing with trusts.

My beef with both is neither is alliance content AND you can't stack entries (like Omen). Leaves very little wiggle room and forces people to form statics and grind it out then get burnt out. I know many people that finally got their prime then quit after, or at least multiple that took a long break after.

You're not going to get a team of people to help others or even go with less-optimal groups when the grind is that long. But I'm biased, I don't like 6-man content, so...
