Solitaire Cape VS Ixion Cape & Prism Cape
Was wondering if anyone had any tests or numbers on how Solitaire Cape matches up against Ixion and Prism Capes for BLM?~
I would bet it depends what you are fighting,

Yes, - 2 enmity on ixion... who cares ? a good blm will take hate anyway. Convert 20 HP to MP ? Maybe good for galka/elvaan, not a really a good advantage on taru For the same reason, HP +20, MP-20 is not a bad thing for a taru, especially because they don't count for the sorceror ring Other thing : ixion got more stat - some ppl dont care, others not, but ixion got also MND +5 so it can save an inventory space but gleeman is rar/ex and ixion is 2M+, but ... Conclusion it's stupid to say this is better than this cause its a personnal choice... (and btw alone, ixion/gleeman dont beat solitaire, you have to have a global view...) Yea and rdm can use ixion cape too....wait, fml
It is largely dependent on your setup (mostly MAB though amount of int somewhat affects it as well as mob just not much) and what nuke you are doing.
At around 58 MAB solitaire will nuke about as hard as ixion on AM2. At lower MABs it will outdo it. For solitaire to win on blizz4 you'd need less than 17 MAB... literally not possible on blm. Solitaire will pretty much always beat prism on AM2 unless you can manage to get almost 100MAB. On Blizz 4 you'd need less than about 46MAB for solitaire to win. Getting Gleeman's and Aslan capes because I have both blm and rdm leveled. Plus 1.5mil for 20 mp doesn't sound like the best use of funds.

If you are in an einherjar shell long enough you run out of things to spend ampoules on. Provided you're not making a lolmythic or crafting with them. The inventory thing wouldn't matter anyway, since I'd be getting an aslan for rdm anyway and would therefore have Aslan + Ixion instead of Aslan + Gleeman's. This way RDM and BLM can use both.
Meh I love my ixion. Even when I get enough ampoules I doubt I'd sell it. And looking back it's actually 40 mp on gleeman since that gives -20 lol!!!
The fact I can't use it on my rdm is kind of a bummer though. Maybe I'll start augmenting prisms soonish. Once I'm satistfied with my weskit. I have plans for ampoules anyways. I will have a valkryies trews for AM2!!! And maybe check to see if any of the other crafted stuff is even worth using lol

I put down valkryies hands for the nomad lottery, pretty hot for elemental debuffs and any int based enfeeb on rdm.
The feet look kinda nice too for accuracy. Still think morrigan feet would be best for rdm's para and slow spells unless you just can't land them. *Edit* Yeah I didn't look at the mp issue right. It's indeed 1.5mil for 40mp. Hands are ok. Kinda a side grade to slight upgrade but meh not going gaga over.
Feet are ok if you don't have morri. Morri will still win on potency and usulaly will win on macc. Still HQs aren't common so more of a really expensive side/slight upgrade on other stuff available Yeah, thats how all Valkryies gear is, even the trews aren't a substantial upgrade to what is available with morrigan legs.
Well even then it is only an upgrade on aga3/T4 unless your MAB is really low to begin with

[112 days between previous and next post]How do you guys feel about Hecate's Cape for blm. i Have ixion but dunno if to get this or not.
With a decent amount of MAB Ixion will still win on T4 but Hecate will do like 8 more dmg on AM2.
Hecate's cape is barely an improvement but the macc is what made me buy it.
I wouldn't really buy it for the macc. Except maybe for the blu debuffs that there is no stat adding to macc or it's just unknown. For pretty much all other spells 5int(mnd) will add 2.5-5macc
BLM speak...
Solitaire = Free. Helps with Sorc Activation, Saves gil, decent back piece overall, if you don't want to spend 300k. Ixion = Easier to cap Stoneskin, but there are plenty of other options for that. Helps with Sorc Activation, and provides almost as much Mag.Acc as Hec depending on mob. -Emn, who cares. Hec = No help with activating Sorc, unless you have Sol/Ixi/Prism/HQ to put on before you put on Hec, Mag Acc is nice, dmg is the best, overall it is slightly better than Ixion but a pain in the *** to use by itself.

If you are going all out hecates on AM2 and probalby aga3 ixion on pretty much everything else for blm.
On Taru probably yeah. On hume it was a fine balance, I figured it out long ago but lazy to rethink it lol.
I just remembered when dmg was under particular point, like around mid 1600s, 2 INT was better than 1 MAB. But 1 INT was not better than .5 MAB. Above that, 1 MAB was better than 2 INT. To this day I would still kill for Taru INT :P. Dint plays a much much much smaller factor in the ratio then tier or MAB.
Amount of dmg has nothing to do directly with the relationship. I would say that Ixion Cape is better - but I like it so much for the convert HP > MP, making it easier to use Sorcerer's ring without being in yellow HP. I would go for Gleeman's if you don't have sorcerer's ring or easy access(HNMLS, or gil) to an Ixion's Cape. Otherwise, -always- go for the Ixion Cape because of the -enmity.
