Addon: GEO HUD
By Genoxd 2026-08-19 13:28:04
This is actually the correct behaviour, if someone else pulls initial hate in this case the tank, and the GEO casts a bubble after the pull (even if it targeted the mob), the GEO did not generate any hate on that mob at this point in time. And they need to do an extra action.
If the mob is not claimed and the very first action on the mob is the GEO casting a bubble on the mob then the GEO will generate enmity and the bubble will take effect.
Casting a debuffing GEO spell on a mob is an action that generates enmity on the mob. You do not need to do any other actions.
Edit: before this turns into an argument and people thinking xyz vs abc.
find a blm friend. go have the BLM pull with dia or whatever. Cast a geo spell on the mob. have the blm warp away. If the mob de-aggros then yes this is 0 enmity just like SMN pets. If the mob starts hitting you then you have generated at least 1 CE of enmity.
You really don't need to do this though, it's already established fact.

Just making sure, this only works as geo main correct? If i have 2 characters, it would only work on the geo?

Magnificent addon, I love it. Everything I never knew I wanted but now can't imagine GEOing without it. I'd been dying for a cardinal chant addon and this even has that? Amazing work. Thank you so much!

Just to make sure I wasn't imagining something, I just ran a quick test- I had one character run to an enemy and attack to get hate (and then turn around). Then, a GEO in party cast a Geo-Poison bubble targeting the enemy. The poison from the bubble clearly took effect as I watched the enemy's HP tick down, but the enemy was marked as un-tagged in the addon.
Ahah very interesting, thanks a lot for testing and confirming !
Just to double check that would only be true for the main target of the bubble correct no sub targets around within the bubble or other targets that the tank has hate on ?

EDIT: On a similar note, I haven't checked yet, but does this addon handle situations where all party members are on the hate list by default and tagging is not required (like ambuscade?).
Hmmm no I don't think it would consider that everyone has enmity by default.
Does this only happen in Ambuscade zones ? I would probably need to change the logic in those specific zones/battlefields

Yes, my understanding is that only the target of the bubble would get tagged, and surrounding enemies would not (even if the tank has hate on them).

Ambu is the only place I can confirm this is the case. Bg-wiki also suggests that the same is true for Vagary, but I haven't checked. I believe the basement (but not the first floor) of Sortie also has the same behavior. In these cases, if any party member aggros an enemy, all party members get added to the hate list, even if they haven't performed any actions.

This just keeps getting better. I also just had a chance to try out the Cardinal Chant feature- I don't even really care about CC generally, but I'm leaving this on because the visuals are gorgeous.

Not sure if this has been accounted for yet or not, but similarly to what we are discussing with how GEO bubbles work with hate: If a party/ally member gets on the hate list of 10 mobs, instead of use dispelga or similar to get on their hate list, a GEO can just cure that player to have the same effect.

Yup yup that's already in the current functionalities, if you cure someone who has hate on multiple targets the rings around the mobs will switch to green because you generated hate on all of them with the cure.

It's only the main target, think of it as the same as casting a non-damaging single target debuff like slow or something. I don't know the exact enmity value but it's for sure at least 1 CE because you won't lose hate

An other substantial update, thanks to everybody who gave feedback and new ideas:
Latest version: GEO-HUD v2.0.2
1. Range rings: //geohud rangerings on|off draws a thin coloured circle on the floor at the edge of each luopan, Indi, and Entrust bubble.
2. Debuff Geo- on a mob now tags that target. Casting the bubble is enough enmity for potency on that mob; other enemies in range still need a separate hate action.
3. In Maquette Abdhaljs-Legion B (Ambuscade, zone 287) every enemy counts as tagged, because the party is already on the hate list.
4. Entrust duration is calculated by sampling equip swaps on Midcast. See Entrust duration in README.
5. Colorblind mode brightens the Cardinal Chant N/S/E/W letters and draws a dark outline so they read more clearly.
6. Ground rings hide when a mob leaves the luopan, and all rings clear when the luopan is gone. Tagged hate is still remembered for the next bubble.
7. Crash/conflict fix. Rewritten hook handling. GEO-HUD and TargetRing no longer patch or chain into each other; both register with a shared scene hook. Load order, unload order and reloading no longer matter, and neither addon can crash the other.

If you don't want to have people mess anything up and remove the hard code, you could put in something like
local jp = windower.ffxi.get_player().job_points.geo
print(jp.indocolure_spell_effect_dur)
to get the amount of job points you have put into that category.
Edit: The print is just to showcase how you'd call it.
local dur = 180 + windower.ffxi.get_player().job_points.geo.indocolure_spell_effect_dur * 2

With the bubble-range rings, this is now a definitive must-have add-on, especially for multiboxers. It already was in my book but it's undeniable now.

Looks like the latest one fixed this for me, no longer perma red on the non geo and recognizes the luopan now

Today after relogging my character I noticed some stuttering when selecting any kind of NPC or home point in the game but nothing when moving around. So I decided to unload all add-ons and try the newest ones I added one by one just to see if that could be it. My game stopped stuttering entirely after unloading the GEO-HUD. Any ideas what could cause this ?

Difficult to diagnose, I would need more detail.
Were you running the latest version of GEO-HUD ?
Did you ever load previous versions of GEO-HUD without logging off in between, and without rebooting your machine ?
I'm Specifically thinking about a memory issue that got fixed in newer versions, where reloading the addon multiple time in succession would not clear the memory of the previous unloaded GEO-HUD.
If yes I would encourage to reboot your machine completely.
If you don't mind me asking what is your PC build/configs ?
Could you confirm you do not have remnants of old version .dll that live in the .../Windower/plugins/... folder, specifically looking for one called BCRings.dll or BubbleRings.dll.
If yes can you delete those please.
I haven't experienced any lag myself lately using the addon in Limbus, Sortie and other shenanigans, so definitely interested to hear from other people as well if they're seeing performance issues from using GEO-HUD.

Removed old files, installed latest ones. Did not fix the issue, didnt stop the stutter while targeting things until i restarted my game without loading the addon because of the .dll being loaded.
I run on a i7-12700k with 32gb of ddr4 and a rtx 2080 super since u asked me about it.
Oh and i also did a full reboot

I'd be game for just a manual setting for non-entrust indi duration so that there is a timer next to the gui entry like entrust has. Something like geohud indiduration 300

Was there a reported issue with mob size? Noticed while testing this that the addon records the mob out of range but you can still it's still being affected.

New update 2.1.0
Latest version: GEO-HUD v2.1.0
1. @Trixi Indi now also has the duration next to it, similar to the Entrust if you are the GEO it will check your gear + JP for correct duration, if you are not the GEO it defaults to 5min25s but you can set your preferred indi duration with the command
2. @Paulu the addon now looks at the character/mob's hitbox to determine if they are inside or outside of the luopan bubble and are affected.
As you can see in these images a mob with a very large hit box would still be affected by a luopan bubble even if the mob's origin/center point is not inside of the bubble.
This is also true for characters, notice how even though my character is outside of the 6" bubble range I'm still getting the buff till around 6.4". As soon as I am at 6.41" from the luopan I lose the buff. And now Geo-Hud correctly toggles the rings under the mobs/characters according to their hit box and not just their center point.
3. @Damz I've done quite a few tweaks to prevent any kind of stuttering or slowdowns, so if you could please try this new version and feedback if you're still encountering performance issues:
- SceneHook only installs while a ring actually needs to draw. Town / no luopan / no Indi / no Cardinal Chant target unhooks `draw_scene` instead of leaving an empty callback on every frame.
- Nearby mob scans (`get_mob_array`) run only when the mob list is on (`//geohud mobs on`).
- Cardinal Chant bearing is a separate unstroked label, so tabbing targets no longer rebuilds the main HUD text.
- Isolation: `//geohud rangerings off`, `//geohud rings off`, and `//geohud cardinalchant off` all unhook when nothing remains to draw. `//geohud hud off` keeps rings. `//geohud rings status` reports whether SceneHook is idle or drawing.

Nice.
I will say I did get a hard crash/terminate the other day when unloading the LUA. Immediate testing didn't repro today after this update, but I don't recall the exact situation either. It was loaded for a few hours while on GEO, switched to a different job, but had another GEO in the party and the HUD was active, went to unload LUA, and then crashed.
Will try to detail if it occurs again.

I am loving this add-on, great job @Nalfey. Question, when I am with a party member and they aggro several mobs, when I cast cure on them it shows as all mobs are tagged but shouldn't it only be the ones they've already swung against?

If the person who pulled gets hit by the mobs then there is hate that got generated for the ones that hit him/her, and healing the puller will tag those mobs that have hate.
if all the mobs are getting tagged as green by the addon before they've even hit that player pulling then it's a bug I should look into fixing.
By Dodik 2026-09-11 04:37:36
What Sindri is saying, aggro and healing the aggroed player alone is not enough to get on hate list.
Aggroed player needs to tag mobs via an action, spell, melee etc, then geo needs to heal them to get on hate list.
Otherwise super-tanking would not work - no tag on a mob, no hate on mob.
[+]
GEO-HUD is an addon that tracks your Luopan, Indi and Entrust spells, but also visually displays tagged mobs in the bubble.
Github: GEO-HUD
The addon shows how many mobs are within your Luopan's range and how many of those are actually tagged with hate.
Visual rings around the mobs will show as red if the mobs are in the bubble but not tagged and the rings will turn green when they are tagged as you generat some kind of hate.
This tracks both hate generated by yourself casting a spell on mobs but also hate generated from healing a party member.
The addon can also be used when you are not the GEO in the party, with all the same features.
This is great for PLD kiting when you want to make sure a boss is still within the bubble's range, and also great for DDs to know which mobs have been tagged in a group pull to maximize dps.
_____
This has been tested on mass pulls of 50+ mobs and does not cause any slowdowns or lag.
_____
Special thanks to Broguypal for sharing his TargetRing code.
