The only, and I mean ONLY reason that KRT + Bibiki Bay are the main bot camps is because you get conquest points while there and the bots can convert conquest points to gil....

No? KRT is used because it's incredibly safe and the mobs are very weak, they dont steal your food or reflect spells, and have a low bar for entry. Bibiki is used by multiboxers because the solo blus killing 1 bat every 4 min in KRT won't be in the way.

Nearly everyone I play with who bots krt and bibiki have no way of automating turning conquest points in to gil.

Bhaflau Colibri/Wivre are incredibly safe with weak mobs. I dont think losing food is a detriment, particularly if you're botting for hours. Reflecting Dia?

Parking in a corner/hallway of Crawlers nest is only slightly less safe... with weak mobs.

If you're talking about actual players, they'll go wherever they want / perceive to be best, but Bots certainly go to those 2 locations I said specifically to double dip

EDIT: Also, atleast on Asura, i've never seen this solo BLU phenomenon. Maybe it's a server thing?

And even if you disagree on my opinion of that being the primary reason those 2 zones are used the most, then you can still agree with my overall point and solutions. None of us want to be pigeonholed into these few options

Adding specialized mobs would barely, if at all, increase interest in ML farming. Don't get me wrong, I think it's a neat idea, but I doubt anything would make people want to do ML regularly. The fact is that ML farming are boring as ***. Even if you're making skillchains, magic bursts, shooting, or whatever, it's still incredibly boring and simplistic.

Yeah I agree that it wont make everyone suddenly enjoy MLing, but it'll make more people ML, and reduce clutter in certain zones. I'd say the variety is the least they can do, but you're totally right that it doesnt address the root issues of way too much being required to get to ML50. I think there needs to be supplementary solutions like campaigns, buffs, etc to increase player approval.

Mire Imps were my favorite, standing dead center in the middle of all of them. SE was nice enough to restrict abrasive tantara to under 25%, but they do have significantly larger aggro range when weather is present, which is very often there. Just annoying enough to discourage most people, and enough mobs to not have to ever venture more than 5 yalms away if you don't want to. Most people won't bot there for extended periods either because of the traffic of people doing peach power.

I agree with everything said, and my ideas of more isolated / underutilized zone camps comes from this camps existence

I'd love some more variety, especially in older Signet and WoTG areas.

I'm a big fan of Signet areas MLing because you earn so much CP that you can convert into gil.

But I hate KRT. It's overcrowded, and the mob selection is meh.

I like Bibiki Bay but it gets crowded too / gets old / not friendly for solo MLing on a lot of jobs cause of linking/healing/tier 2 defense increases.

Imperial Standing areas are more friendly to more jobs, but you can't earn gil and ML at the same time. Imperial Standing isn't used for enough stuff still.

Colibri are hella boring and don't allow for food use, cause even if you resist it 34 times in a row, the 35th time you don't resist it, you still lose your food. The Wivres are quite fun to kill, but are spread too thin.

Imps are great fun if you're strong enough. So many of the damn things, I don't think you could ever run out of mobs. But if you're just starting out, they're a bit of a pain.

Crawlers Nest S is bugs, and it's wildly inconsistent because of the mixing of Apex and Locus. No money to be made from Sigil area, either. Also I hate Damselflies when they're around me in bulk. Always feel like they're gonna cause a graphics error.

I've known no one who has been willing to ML on the Apex empty mobs in Promies or the Apex Cogs and Gears in Nyzul. Those both require real buffs and real players to be worth a damn. Too damn evasive and the gears can heal like Dhalmels except even more HP.

The Adoulin Apex camps like Dho Gates are all still there, and still good, especially for newbies. But they crowd easily, and like half of them have that weird apex but not apex Velks intermingled with their Apex camps. Juice not worth the squeeze there.

I'd love to see:

Locus camp in Altepa Desert. Western Altepa east of Rabao, they could just dump a ***whack ton of Locus Worms/Manticores/Goblins/Antica.

Locus Camp in Gustav Tunnel. I think the last time they changed Gustav was when they added those Adamantoise and big fat white worms for TVR. Nobody really goes there for any other reason these days. Feel like they could change its entire top floor on the Cape Terrigan side to be non-aggressive, non-linking Locus mobs of some flavor.

They could give us a Locus Pugil camp in Cape Terrigan south of Valley of Sorrows entrance.

Hell, they could put Locus camps in Valley of Sorrows, Behemoth Dominion, and Dragon's Aery.

Surely one of the offshoots in Delkfutt's could be Locus Gigases.

Grauberg's Hippogryff slope could be changed to Locus Hippos.

Locus Rafflesias in Karugo Narugo could be fun.

Beyond that, it'd be neat if they gave Abyssea some love. Give us a new type of exemplar granting monster with exemplar level boxes using Abyssea mechanics in certain parts of Abyssea where there aren't NMs. Call'em Abysseal Mobs or some ***. Bring back the Alliance EXP of the Abyssea Era. Get full alliances of folks farming Exemplar. Maybe have it cap out at 255 Exemplar per kill or something, and the Blue Chests from Abysseals would give 500. Bring back my key ***, I say, I say!

There are 16 different zones with apex/locus mobs in them.

People's interest (or lack thereof) in doing EP isn't because there aren't enough options to choose from. The problem with doing EP is it's boring as all hell.

It won't stop being boring if you add hippogryffs, worms, and manticores.

There are lots of challenging mobs that offer larger rewards for this extra challenge: the promy mobs, cogs, etc. You know what happened? Almost nobody does them, because they're too challenging and people want to turn their brains off and/or bot.

Repeatedly fighting mobs with no mechanics is not interesting.

I've already given the answer to this problem dozens of times before, but here's your reminder: ML50 isn't important. Basically no ML is important. Stop obsessing over how long it takes to get to ML50. EP doesn't need to be fixed, ML50 doesn't need to be fixed, your brains need to be fixed.

Not only reflecting dia, birds mean no magic bursting which is a huge source of damage, and also getting debuffs reflected is a nuisance and a source of slowing down the abysmal slog. But they are still very safe and no brainer for your ezf bot dd.

Wivres are definitely not safe or quick unless you can somehow bot your way around to the back of them and use another player or trust to hold hate during invincible from the front. No one is botting wivres with ezf, which is what most bots use.

Crawlers nest sucks for botting. Not a lot of camps, plenty of mobs doing annoying things like defense up
and slow. Aggro. Terrible place to bot.

And again, there is no easy conquest points to gil automation that is shared with the majority of botters or publically at all, so unless by "botters" youre excluding 99% of the people using ezfarm, your argument doesn't make sense.

The reason KRT and Bibiki have botters is the same reason the birds are botted. They are safe and easy mobs. Especially KRT and birds have such a low barrier to entry. Conquest points have no way of easy conversion to gil and are not a driving factor in this. Even on backwater servers the birds are just as camped as the bats, I have to imagine asura is no different.

What annoys tf out of me for this was it was LEGIT group content. They created locus mobs that don’t aggro, don’t link, resist AoE damage. They literally removed a totally feasible way to farm EP and then turned around and make changes are only benefit botting. It baffles me they’re THAT incompetent.
Ehr... no Senaki.
I replied to Dex before.

Don't ge me wrong, I joined AoE camps in Crawler_S a few times, it was BRILLIANT, I'm sad it's gone, but they had plenty of reasons to do that.

The EP/hr difference between AoE camp and ANY OTHER CAMP was huge, immense, insane. They weren't just "a bit better, provided you have a different setup".
It was basically making EP farming, which had insane grind levels, into something almost feasible in decent times, completely destroying the time/effort ratio they thought of for EP farming.
Now we could discuss that their ratio are completely bonkers and irrational but that's another story.

In addition to be insanely better than anything else (and, as such, it was highly desired) it couldn't hold more than, what, 2 groups? 3 groups at best? But I'd say two honestly.
Yes they could've added more zones with AoE camps instead of removing the single available one, but it still would've invalidated every other camp.
Why would you even want to go to any other camp when there's the AoE one available?
That would've created pretty nasty social interactions, in addition to invalidate 90% of the content they thought of, make players unhappy with the competition and, last but not least of, make it way too fast compared to what they envisioned.

Which was totally right, I've always been a strong advocate that EP past level 45 (but I could say 40 really) is beyond sanity, but I guess not enough people agreed with me to go wild at SE.

That's undoubtely a big reason for RMT but I wouldn't say it's the "only" one.
Bats and Crabs are like, what, the best possible mobs to make easy EP on?
In addition to having the Locus bonus they don't aggro, they don't link, they have relatively easy/unannoying TP moves.
They're probably what I would define the best available targets if you want to automatize things even with pretty simple tools and not necessarily the best bot softwares around.

You have my full support into the "we need more FEASIBLE EP camps" though, absolutely.
And with Feasible I mean with mobs that aren't super annoying in areas with super aggro/super link and stuff like that.
Shame they stopped adding camps.
They were targeting the old zones so far, think it's time they could add a few camps in Adoulin zones? Converting some of the camps that were originally conceived as CP camps in the early CP era, before Apex mobs?

I love your ideas btw. Wish they'd go that route =/

Can easily park in an out of the way area in Limbus Temenos 135, with corsair roll on, and get as much EP/hr as any of the locus camps while also capping limbus points.

Making new camps without increasing mob level does nothing to solve the issue of you need to bot or it's not worth your time doing manual EP gain.

Empty monsters are super fun to ML on. There are two reasons you won't see botters out there, first is that the "safe" camps are slower then other places because you have to stand at the edge. If you venture closer you have an infinite supply of monster's but will start getting aggroed by repops and that tends to kill bots. Second is that monsters resistances are random, making self SC's variable which kills the Jinpu and other Hybrid or self SCing strategies.

You will still see some people in the lower camps because they are easy to get too, but the higher floor camps are always empty, *ba-dum-bush*

Idk if by park you mean bot or not, but since the reform of temenos, there's nearly no place that's off the main path.

The two upper landings on C2 and C3 are possible, but they are tonberrys and fairies which can be annoying. You could maybe take one of the side rooms and try to hide on N/E/W floor 2, but you're still going to be obviously botting. Risky business.

But if you mean doing it legit, then disregard lol

I mean
I seen dudes botting right smack dab in the middle of vermin floor 3

I dont think anyone cares about “hiding off the beaten path”

I also seen people very clearly either
A-posing to porter
B-injecting port-up packets from across the zone

People have forgotten the art of flying under the radar.

My early ML days were fun killing these. They just kind of died off (ML parties in general). Used to see shouts for this daily for Crawler's Nest, Promys etc. No longer than an hour or 90 minutes, but it was OK for a few minutes here and there. Then botting took over and MLing never recovered. I bet if i shout for people to join a 1hr ML party in the promys, I'll get laughed at.

I might do that tonight, actually.

Doesn't mean I would suggest anyone follow that example though.

If you don't can almost guarantee once the camps set up atleast 2 will turn on their own bots and clock out while the parties going

As anyone but the puller, ef is largely no different than manually doing it, that's how repetitive it is.

Engage. walk up. use berserk if its up. savage blade. wait for next mob. Repeat exact steps for 90 minutes.
