Im literally telling you the situation its in.
If you dont like it cuz “its political”, thats on you. It doesnt change the facts.
It's not that "I don't like it". It's just that, the same thing has been said for 30 pages. And unless we work for that specific project it's hard to really pinpoint the real project management issue behind those failed projects.
So as an outsider, besides spamming "it's DEI'S fault!!!!", what else can you add to the discussion?
In fact, I was the one who posted actual interviews or rumors about why those projects fail. Because I don't want the discussion to endlessly stuck in "it's DEI's fault!" that goes nowhere.
Discuss why Kay Vess looks like a man without getting political.
Ask the character designer. Although I don't see how designing a manly female character is inherently political. It's a common design choice even in anime.
Why does Veilguard have a whole subset of dialog and quests for trans characters? Answer this without getting political.
Ask the writer. Though I already know the producer is trans and one writer (Trick Weekes to be exact) is non-binary. So I would assume it's a natural thing that they wrote stories based on personal experience.
Trick Weekes is also a long time Bioware employee since ME trilogy btw, so you can't say non-binary writers are hired because blackrock and DEI funds force them.
Discuss why Japan is blowing a gasket over AC:Shadows content
Because orientalism. Is orientalism political though? It's not even a new thing that westerners has orientalism in their creations about Asia. It has been happening since the Last Samurai film.
I also find it funny that westerners never cared about Asian feelings when they made Last Samurai and Memories of Geisha, now they care about Asian feelings because of Ubisoft and western political war. Lol.
If you want to criticize orientalism, the same standard should apply to those films.
