So, What Do You Need In A Screenshot To Give Good Rating? >.>

What is wrong with people? What you want to see to give a good rating? Are people just haters or jealous? Jaded to the point where great gears and synths worth nothing to their eyes?

I see nice T0 synth screenshots, people rate low. I see people getting Velocious belt or other hard to get items like that and people rate low. Screenshots of people soloing hard mobs, rating is low. And a lot of people never take into consideration that some of the screenshots are a great accomplishment (when you are intelligent enough to realize that the player is fairly new to the game.)

And when there is crazy drops, saying "Oh god grats a wind crystal!" is getting freaking old! Not funny anymore! :P

There is either a huge amount of *** on here or most people are just extremely difficult.

It comes up occasionally. I personally believe there's a handful of people that just go through and rate everything low, given that initial scores are almost always in the 1-4 range. If I submitted more screenshots, I'd probably just lock rating and allow comments unless I really wanted people to rate it.

if you dont have ***, ***, pretty faces, clever and/or funny dialogue, then don't bother posting it. Then you're just being an attention ***.

For me to give a good rating: if I see a perfectly good screenshot of friends, people, scenery, whatever that has been rated down for no apparent reason, I rate it up. If I see something that I really like (well-timed, such as the gigas nut-shot; beautiful, humorous, well-drawn art, art where someone obviously tried, etc) I rate it up. If it's posted by one of my friends, I rate it up. If nothing about it particularly strikes me, I don't rate it at all.

There are very few occasions where I would rate down. If something is absolutely offensive, such as awhile back that picture of the worm 'popping' from a female paladin's legs, (totally unnecessary and positively disgusting) AND if that pic has been rated before me, then I rate it down. If it has NOT been rated before me, then I do not rate it because it starts at 0 and to rate it even at 1 raises it from 0. But like I said, I think there have been about 2 or 3 pics total, ever, that I rated down.


Edit: I do wish we had the option to post pics on our profile only, as opposed to all pics hitting the front page first. I would post a lot more of my death shots, friend shots, etc. if I knew everyone and their hamster and their hamster's furby was not going to see it. That way, people would only see it if they specifically searched you. And of course, it would be just an option so those who like their art to be viewed could certainly still post it on the front page.

To be honest, alot of screenshots i rate 10 just because i see someone else has rated it 1 and it anoys me, i just dont rate unless im going to rate it good

Posting of ones achievements do not make great screen shots. Unless the shot is either funny, artistic or in some way striking, its pointless drivel. If a person wants to brag on their achievements, that's what a blog is for.

Tbh I think ppl just rate low because their skills can't show otherwise & they don't even match it with proof either in the situation. Strange how they don't improve & go for the attention *** comments & publicity shots instead. I do like to rate original shots, looking at girl characters being spammed on a bad angle I just ignore.

I've noticed it too actually, I think it just comes with the territory. If you don't want ppl to rate you down just disable the option. I think anytime you have voting in such an anonymous manner you're going to see things like this :P

Pointless stupid *** = 1.

Extremely good rendered art = High score.

Extremely high quality SS = High score.

Extremely rare and high frequency on item drops = High score.

Rare augment that everyone wants or maxes potential = High score.

You sitting with your online boyfriend who you think is a girl = Low score.

You showing off pieces of armor that more than 200 people have = Low score.

Mediocre (resolution) screen shots = Low score.

Girls with ugly ***, fat, or *** = Low score.

People just don't have something meaningful to do with their day, so they come on FFXIAH and rate all the pictures down to 1. It helps them sleep better, so why not!

I've learnt not to take ratings seriously. If I did, I'd disable them on anything I posted. I don't care either way personally.

I uploaded a pic a few nights ago and within five seconds of adding it, it was on 1. *shrugs*

Of course, every picture submitted gets automatically published to the front page (or easily accessible via the other recent screenshots), so even if I just want to have a picture of my character standing around doing nothing on my profile, it gets stuck on the front page anyways, and then receives a score of 1.

^ my point, this is the kinda attitude that results in a 1 score on a SS that perhaps just contains you and a good friend. Pointless to others, meaningful to OP.

For me...some of my pics started off with a really high score, then moths/weeks later it gets rated down alot, same people ratting down all my posts and comments on my page I guess.

Exactly. If I ever posted a pic with me and my friends, I wouldn't expect anything higher than a 2 average. But then, that's what facebook is for.

Just put a party list bar to the lower right & probably a log screen.

Achievement screenshots are good though.

Well, my take on it is this: If you were posting RL pictures somewhere, and you posted a picture of yourself sitting in the mall parking lot in your brand new Honda Accord, you're just not going to get great ratings. But if you post a pic of yourself sitting in a Corvette in front of the Great Pyramid, chances are you're going to get decent to high ratings. Screenies are no different. ^,^

I agree with the "That's what facebook is for" line. When people post RL pics of themselves I just think "nobody cares". It's cute and all, but we wanna see pics of people wiping to weak mobs or stuff!
