Always wear your mouth masks.
Not the first pic I have seen of a mask being worn like that...

Mask doesn't make you safe. mask makes you more likely to get sick, false sense of security.

I saw this "false sense of security" talk from an western "expert" a few months ago. I think it's *** sad that one person said this then most NA population see this as some kind of golden rule that they must follow. Then people died because of it.

It's from WHO
The WHO are war criminals IMO. We are at war against a virus and they betrayed humanity and took sides with the virus.

WHO can't be trusted.

You didn't read a damn thing lol. Not surprising.

Try reading next time. Masks (non n95) give you a false sense of security. You will get it if you wear a cloth mask. it will not do anything.

You are at higher risk with a false sense of security than you would be with nothing.

I said absolutely nothing about if you are already sick, you should wear a mask to stop your spreading. (you should, but it also gives you a false sense of security. a cloth mask will not fully seal your face and fully stop spread, merely reduce)

This guy understood, instead of bullshitting, but I didn't see it first.

Wearing a mask is fine, but it doesn't give any real protection against droplets from cough / breath unless it's a N95 or better.

It gives people a false feeling of protection making it more likely to not respect social distancing.

Also improper removal / cleaning makes it likely to infect yourself.

This being said, proper use may give you a slight percentage of not being infected, but a scarf would be more efficient than an homemade mask.

Shiroi's information is misleading though.

https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/personal-protective-equipment-infection-control/n95-respirators-and-surgical-masks-face-masks

"If worn properly, a surgical mask is meant to help block large-particle droplets, splashes, sprays, or splatter that may contain germs (viruses and bacteria), keeping it from reaching your mouth and nose. Surgical masks may also help reduce exposure of your saliva and respiratory secretions to others."

Surgical mask DOES block droplets, it is possible that virus may exist in the air but AFAIK most came from droplets. Therefore surgical mask still offer certain degree of protection.

Also people missed the point of wearing a face mask. The point of the face mask is to prevent asymptomatic patients from spreading droplets, and block droplets from other sources in case you accidentally get too close to other people.

It's not meant to encourage people get close to confirmed cases like they are invincible with their false sense of security.

This false sense of security talk from WHO is one of the dumbest thing I've seen from "experts", and I wonder why people all believe it lol.

If China is really a threat, the last thing people should do is listening to anything their puppet said. And that puppet is WHO.

Here's the problem. You know what a surgical mask does and doesn't do. I know what a surgical mask does and doesn't do.

I don't trust the idiots at kroger to know what a surgical mask does and doesn't do.

I would rather you wear no mask and stay the *** back TEN feet. Than wear a mask and ignore social distancing because you don't understand what the letters (or lacktherof on your mask mean).

For what it's worth;

A surgical mask is good. But 1) It's not idiotproof, see people wearing it incorrectly. and 2) 90% isn't 100%. Condoms are 99.99999% effective. people still have unwanted babies.

It's not meant to, but this IS what it does.

I'd just like to point out how you've proven me to be correct. They block large particles droplets, not the much smaller ones that are released from a dry cough. Hence why health workers treating covid19 patients are using N95 masks.

Proper use does give you a certain amount of protection, but not a reliable one and you shouldn't use that as a reason not to respect social distancing measures.

96% isn't 0%. The wording "it doesn't give any real protection" sounds like it's 0% protection.

If you use "partially effective" or "greatly reduce the chance" then it will be much closer to the data.

I'm calling you incorrect because of your extremely misleading wording.

Health workers treating patients with n95 on doesn't invalidate average people using a surgical mask. It's meant to be an extra layer of protection for oh ***moments when people absolutely can't avoid going out.

So do you use condoms when you don't want a baby? Yup! Does that 0.0001% condom fail rate stop people from using condoms? Nope!

TL;dr: Do BOTH social distancing and mask. They are not mutually exclusive.

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but maybe we'll do a leap forward into the present and we'll be able to vote online from now on.

They still need to meet face to face and present ID card. They never gonna slow online if they didn't work with the mail system..

If everyone can goto the supermarket once / thrice a week to get shopping, they can go vote in exactly the same kind of situation.

Dude, are you for real or you actually line up for hours at a grocery store? I wouldn't and I go out every day to work. I wouldn't want to stay any where I have to cramp or line up for ours.

If you do, and you die then I can haz your loot?

One good thing about all of this is that a lot of the animals in shelters have been temporarily fostered by people stuck inside. Hopefully some of them become permanent pets when this is all over!

This really needs to be addressed. I can appreciate that the shelters are currently adopting out animals like crazy. People are lonely, they need companionship.

Unfortunately I can promise you that many of those animals will go right back to the shelter afterword. People suck. Not to mention puppy mills don't take breaks for quarantine. I REALLY want to be wrong on this one, please keep the pets you adopt. They're not temporary distractions.

Something weird I thought of yesterday, thousands of people die every day in random traffic accidents.

Since the lockdown the roads are empty, there are many tens of thousands of people alive today that would not be if not for the lockdown and none of them even know it.

That's true. Also for the first time in modern history there were no school shootings in the entire month of March in the states. A depressing statistic.

I totally read everything you said and it's ALL WRONG.

Yes, you can still get the disease, but you will be EXPOSED TO LESS OF IT. That's a good thing.

Also, this disease spreads ASYMPTOMATICALLY. Therefore, people who are infected do not always know they are. So having everyone wear masks will means EVERYONE WHO IS SICK AND DOESN'T KNOW will also SPREAD LESS DISEASE.

Finally, improper removal/cleaning IS NOT AN EXCUSE because you can just TEACH PEOPLE. This also ties into the false sense of security thing. TEACH PEOPLE WHY they are wearing masks.

You obviously have no understanding of the proper use of masks or the reasons why someone would wear them. So stop talking about it and stop refuting when people who did the research are telling you that you need to be taught something.

For reference, I mean here. We're not a polite (or intelligent) society

To expand;

Pros of "a mask" Not n95, just ANY "face covering"
Impedes your ability to spread your covid if you have it.
Lowers risk by a non zero % (depends on material, listed above)

Cons
Pollution/Waste/litter
Hoarding
Gouging
Waste again, but not garbage waste, actual usage when not needed
Failure to disinfect/Reuse - WILL cause you to get other infections
Improper wear - False sense of security
More likely to touch your face due to having something on it (adjusting mask etc)

My fridge broke down so I ordered a new one. When the delivery people came to my home, I opened a window and spoke to them. I told them that I'm not sick, but that I was going to wear a mask for their protection, just in case. Then I opened my door and never got within 6 feet of them.
After they left, I washed my door and door handles and the entire fridge, with a bleach solution.
I wore the mask for them, then washed everything for me. It can work if people are taught how to do it. But so many pompous a-holes just assume they're the only ones that are smart and that every single other person is too dumb to learn anything. Try teaching the public how to do things right. Sure, you'll always run into idiots. But most people will get it right. And most people might be enough.
