I grew up playing video games just for fun, sometimes by myself and sometimes with IRL friends in the same room. I don't mind if other people genuinely enjoy speedrunning or watching speedruns, and some are pretty impressive, but I dislike the concept (same with "pro e-sports"). It generates unnecessary anxiety for something that was intended to be casual fun in your basement, and attracts a lot of the most mentally unstable people in society.
Based on your OP, you're aware of the SJW agenda they have for including as many confused and mentally ill people as possible and excluding anyone they think might hurt even one person's feelings with naughty words. This particular event series is also a pretty gross money-making scheme under the guise of "cancer fundraising."
Tldr the "speedrunning community" seems to be degenerating rapidly into a cesspool of mentally ill adult children, and people who donate are suckers. If you want to donate to cancer research, there are a lot of places where a much larger % of your donation will actually end up paying for research and not the event organizer's bank account.
