Anyone have a start or breakdown of the Chest O'Plenty fight. I watched a few videos and attempted it myself but the mechanics just confused me. Any info would be wonderful. Thanks.

Depends in your goals... if you are starting out, the "junk" from Thuds may be worth something to you. After some time you are likely going to end up going until you have a loud thud, or open 8 chests and then one will be either rainbow or gold. You are hoping for rainbow.

So after you open up to some form of loud thud, or the golden chest (rainbow is loud thud) then open the middle.

That locks in the drops. As you end up with more and more gear, you want to do this in parties, thst way gear won't go to ether if that is what is rolled. You can then sell or give it away and build up karma or friend points or whatever lol... at least better than nothing.

Sometimes rainbow will be there when you enter. If so, I would open rainbow then middle, if it were me...

Best of luck... oh... you can also earn up from the bc wins, so I guess go on a non mastered job? Though something with warp and movement is also helpful.

The fact they called it "fight" seems to imply they're trying to pop whatever they can and deal with the mimic as well.

It's relatively simple. It absorbs light > dark > light > dark

So you need to do light (absorb) double light (damage) and just whittle it down.

If you don't let it absorb / proc with those double light/darks then it just eats your face off.

Ghetto stun Death with lullaby

Quote:
Immune to Stun and Silence. Susceptible to Lullaby.

Appears to have four distinct phases, transitioning at 100%, 69%, 39% and 9% health.[1]

Phase 1 is a fight against a fairly standard NM. It casts its full complement of spells and uses its physical damage TP skills and Death Trap.

In phase 2, it will alternate between two magic-absorption 'modes.' One mode absorbs all Light-skillchain damage (fire, thunder, wind included) and the other mode absorbs all Dark-skillchain damage (ice, water, earth included). The mode changes appear to be triggered by consecutive weaponskills, which may be retaliated against with a use of Death Trap.

In phase 3, it retains its magic-absorption mechanics and will take now greatly reduced damage of all types and gains the use of Pandora's Curse/Gift.

In phase 4, the fight reverts to Phase 1 damage mechanics but Ka-thwack is greatly increased in potency.

Strong enough damage of the 'correct' type of elemental damage will proc blueWeakness Blue and removes the aura gained by Ka-thwack in phases 1-3.

If you made it to 9% seems like you understand it fine. You just got cursed or petrified at the end. Asylum at 10% and finish it.

I've gotten Loud Thud on the first chest, exited (Noise), and only saw an Igneous Barnacle. This led me to believe the Loud Thud treasure I was going to get was already in my possession, so the game skipped giving me anything and just gave me the Noise drop instead. I'm guessing something similar happened with you.

Thats not the same though I opened 5 boxes and got 5 items. You opened two boxes and got one item because your LT loot was unable to load because everyone owned the rare item. Each box represents one item in the loot pool, does it not?

You already had the Rare Loud Thud item. This is why I always brought a mule alt to the zone in my party, and had a 3rd in town to shout and sell.

I suggest you do the same if equipment like Ashera Harness is still worth anything. Or if you carry, say, an Orpheus’s Sash.

Once again:
I opened 5 boxes, I got 5 items. Every box opened is its own item in the pool, is it not?

2-I multibox. I know rare items cant load in pool if everyone has one. I've never gotten more loot than boxes opened from Trove, and the notion that I had the item that would have dropped implies that I would be getting SIX items from opening FIVE boxes. I've never received more loot than opened boxes from Trove. I've received less, due to the aforementioned rare tags, but I've never seen more. Maybe it can happen, but I've never seen it which is why I made my original post.

Yeah, people are obviously missing that you opened 5 boxes (including the Terminal Coffer) and got 5 rewards. Not a case of a "no drop" because all players already have a rare item.

I think the Staghorn Coral was your Loud Thud drop? That's the one that looks most suspect (Legion drop from the same pools as the Legion abjurations), and not one I regularly see from my crap noise/thud drops.

Paragon cards and VWNM synthesis mats (Kidney Stone) definitely drop from noise, those don't seem to be it. Also almost certain Indi-Wilt is the same (I know I get various Indi- scrolls regularly as garbage drops).

It's frustrating lately with the diluted pool. My last three Loud Thud drops were two Voidtorsos and a Vexed Hakama...

You opened 5 boxes and then the last box to end the event. And that last box also counts, so you got 6 boxes and whatever was your LT you already have. Feel free to browse the other 70 pages of this thread to see people respond that they have opened only the exit chest and gotten omen bodies.

What in the raspberry cream puff do you think "middle" means?

Anyways, I went over my logs to double check and I missed one of the first noises. It was N N N N-BB LT N

Yes, I opened 6

Yet:
1-No one said anything akin to "double check your logs, did you miss a noise or thud"?
2-Iocus talked about "last box counts" as if I didnt list what the boxes were in order, including the last box being noise.

No, he was incorrect. He said last box counts. I said last box was noise. I didnt open a LT, hit another noise, and then open last box. I missed one noise from the first 4 batch of noises.

He was just straight up wrong (the worst kind of wrong).
