Uhmm the Grip is interesting.
Some of the jobs pairings on those weapons are unexpected.
Two 1h swords btw.
Basically the base stats are pretty much the same for all weapons, only a few have Mab and if they do PDL is reduced from 10% to 5%.
That seems to be the model there.

Will there be single path augments or multiple, I wonder? Can't wait to see them.

DT II? After all these years... and they put it on what is probably a size 4 shield. Well, assuming this wasn't a *** like the original Vocane stats... Why couldn't you have just made Duban the DT II shield? They refused to let it replace Aegis, still.

Anyway. Only 5%, but, even then that pushes the max PDT up to 73%. Blocking reliably (Duban) is still better overall physical reduction(and if this is size 4 it's gonna have quite a block rate deficit. 15% lower than size 3, base), but this would be the best pulling shield. And good for fetters(breath damage), and anything else you can't block where you wouldn't use Aegis instead. Well.. assuming DT even works for the content in question(Hello, Limbus NMs)

This may also be a good chance to test for a block damage reduction cap. Many of my previous tests only hit 80% reduction when the shield stats and calcs suggested it should've been slightly higher, 81~82% etc. But that's a small difference. This shield.. if it's actually size 4... Should straight up hit 100% reduction on block. I'm betting on it getting capped at 80% though.

Also still need to see what the augs are.

Not only do very few have mab, those are the only ones with magic damage as well so once again NIN has a katana lacking magic damage for their ninjutsu.

Grip obviously a big highlight so far, a few others might be interesting niche items, augments of course will decide if these are actually good and considering how long to r30 they better be good, I hope they are unique to each weapon.

POLUtils says all versions of the uncursed shield are Shield Size 3.

Huh, Weird. Better overall for the shield though. Since the extra block damage reduction from a size 4 would likely be wasted, and dropping 15% base block rate would hurt. With the high def on the shield, it'll still make a good clock damage reduction cap test. Expecting 87.75% reduction on block and only getting 80% would be pretty convincing evidence of an 80% cap.

This also means that on low enough level mobs(anything where you can get block rate high enough), it's actually going to be better for physical than Duban. 80% reduction on block vs 60%, and 5% DT II on top of that. But.. it's not like Priwen where it's got a reprisal bonus. So.. it's gonna have kinda meh blockrate on higher level things. And really... wtf was hitting hard enough to break through PDT/Block and phalanx anyway. You know, aside from the bugged as hell limbus NMs that ignore blocks and DT, that is.

Said the same thing the moment I saw the base stats. Shame shame shame (gokotai/tauret/naegling/kunimitsu it is)

If Saber has TP bonus, even +500, COR would pretty much have 3000TP Savage at 1000TP and every ranged WS would also get a massive boost with such offhand.

Really doubling down on the limbus grind.

I would say doubt it will go well, but Sortie is just as boring yet people still grind it out.

They did fix a lot of english mistakes this update as well.

Greatsword -> Great Sword
Greataxe -> Great Axe

These weapons are kind of offhand-compatible Sortie weapons without the attached WS.

Anyone have a list of the new synths? talked to recepie guy's at least 100x and nothing poped up for cloth.

Pretty low base damage on the Knuckles...the augments are going to have to be nuts to make that competitive. The Grip looks good and the Saber is great. Very high base stats on the Staff as well, although like the Knuckles the augments will tell the tale there.

All of those weapons have low base damage. Also Polearm has a really strange choice of damage/delay (very fast, but low damage) normally used for multijob spears, not DRG exclusive ones.

Even if there was a crossbow...this isn't a quiver so would it matter?

That's super weird. Think this one might be DOA given polearm WSes being what they are.

Overall review without augs known, grip is cool, the weapons with MAB on them seem like they COULD be very good. Single handed weapons could be good if given a TP bonus.


IDK about 2 handers though, so many of their WSes are bad.
