18 years for that is very lenient, did their conviction ever get changed? It's good they fought to change the law for child abuse in Mexico for a mandatory life sentence. It's hard to believe that this goes on. We had a similar case up here too in Canada. Very harsh and cruel. :\

I would think so... I believe it says it in the video they got the max of life.

Stuff like that really takes from everyone... No one will know who she would have been...

New Mexico, not Mexico. New Mexico is a state in the US near Texas and Arizona (and on the Mexican border). I used to live in Albuquerque (I used to watch that news channel too lol), I think I vaguely remember this case.

You know what kinda makes me sadder about this case though, my mother told me that it was a normal baby reflex for infants to smile when they are lifted, guess its a defense mechanism?...can you imagine beating a smiling child?

the part that sucks is that they moved both uncle and Father to another state jail because they feel their "lives were in danger" Like we should give a ***if their lives are in danger... lol i'd want them to get whats coming to them, have all of them beefy jail fathers make them their man ***. >.>

Everyone here has done much much worse than this.

This sums it up for me, I have seen worse, but it's still very sad.

But the question is, why would someone even do something like that? I mean really, wtf? And no death penalty, let them get life in prison, they will get beat and raped in prison just like they did to the baby. "Treat others as you would like to be treated" is about to become quite literal for them.

I watched the video, and no, I did not shed a tear for the kid.

Why?

Why is that kid's life more valuable than a rabbit? Or a tree? Or a fish in the bottom of the ocean?

We seem to be able to kill those really easy. Why are they different than that kid's life? You really should set your priorities straight, and stop being so egotisical in thinking that only you matter.

But then again, its not your fault that the human mindset is like this. We are the so-called "conquitors" of the world. We treat every life on this planet as its plaything.

So, go ahead, and think that the kid's life is more important than anything else's. I for one will not feel sorry for it because it was just one of humanity's many murders of the world that day.
