Letting someone use alternative medicine on themselves is one thing, but when they begin to be excessively vocal about it to the point others begin to believe it and are hurt by it, then it becomes a problem.
I have no qualms with letting the Darwin Awards give away special mentions and awards for culling the herd with absolute stupidity, but they shouldn't be trying to take others down with them.
The thing about actual medicine, is that you are informed of possible side effects, possible outcomes, and so forth.
This is rarely, if ever, the case with homeopathic medicine - often times it's the opposite, they all claim to have the "Miracle cure" for anything and everything that ails you, in one simple formula... so long as you buy it from THAT person.
By fonewear 2015-07-24 11:00:49
Yea but again I ask you who is forcing anyone to use this kind of medicine ?
I'm not defending the medicine I'm defending people's option to use it.

It's the same as Jehova's people who would even let their children die cause transfusions are sinful. Beliefs that cause harm to people should be addressed, not ignored cause "well it's not me".
I don't see here anyone saying "why can't you respect ISIS beliefs?"

Not to mention when it doesn't work and people get scared and go to real doctors the costs are much higher than if they went in the first place.
Or when people try "alternative" treatments and end up making their conditions worse.
Then there's an entire division of "alternative medicine" that the medical boards were forced to allow to practice due to the way the laws are written.

Using it as a supplement is fine.
Unless it interferes with your actual medications.
And when it does the homeopaths, of course, blame the medicine...not their unregulated "supplement."

I still question the point of your threads Lordgrim, since everytime anyone gives you a thorough explanation of why things aren't as you claim, you simply ignore it as you don't have a rebuttal, and you don't have one because science clearly is an obscure field to you.
You keep assuming the world of medicine and pharmacy is controlled by some evil forces. And maybe it is, economically. But you know, vaccines, pills, treatments, these things aren't magically conjured into existence by a CEO that uses them to destroy the world, but they are mass produced using formulas that chemists and biologists work on everyday, in every part of the world.
So unless you wanna claim that every person with a science degree in the world is part of a conspiracy to kill you and your friends, you're probably wrong.
You sound so sure that no government or Industry or bank can do no wrong there or would not conspire to kill steal or hide anything. I provided facts. Think what you will as the saying goes. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

The problem is they're given massive misinformation by very persuasive speakers, speakers that have a financial stake in selling the lie.

Unfortunately I see both sides of this issue and have a hard time grasping what the fair solution is. We can't round up everyone who peddles nonsense and throw them in prison. So what do you do? Regulate the ever-loving crap out of these products? I dunno.

That is sorta my point. It is about freedom of choice. Not so much interested in the this medicine vs that medicine.

Sure governments can do wrong. Sure a company's policies can do wrong. But said company relies on normal employees to produces medicines. They are not magically created by the president of Illuminati, Obama doesn't have a degree in pharmacy!

Said this before.
You don't provide facts, you provide conspiracy theories that you believe in either cause you are paranoid or because your life is boring.

No, but you can prevent their business practices. Require them to carry malpractice insurance. Require them to back their claims with evidence.

I know people in the pharmaceutical industry. Regardless of what crazy plans you think the company bigwigs have, the people who develop the products do so with the intent of saving lives. It is absolutely ludicrous to infer that everyone is "in on it".

I mean "Dr. OZ" is a sensation and people buy that garbage up.

So your saying the Pharmaceutical industry is giving these Holistic doctors massive amounts of money to help them ? Your wrong
I call *** on this thought, because the only misinformation i have seen has always been against the Profit margin of every big Industry that has a basic monopoly on said product. They would never support a doctor who does not further poison a American Citizen

Quote: DEMOCRATS INTRODUCE BILL TO BAN ‘HUSBAND’ AND ‘WIFE’ AS ‘ANTI-GAY’ WORDS
"Gendered terms" would be removed from federal law
Fresh off the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage, Democrats in California have introduced a bill that would ban the words “husband” and “wife” from being used in federal law because they are “gendered terms” and discriminate against gay people.
The words husband and wife were deleted from California state law last year in order to accommodate same sex marriage.
Under new legislation proposed by over two dozen Democrats, that same rule would be applied federally. The bill, introduced by Rep. Lois Capps, D-Calif, would introduce new “gender-neutral” terms such as “spouse” or “married couple.”
“The Amend the Code for Marriage Equality Act recognizes that the words in our laws have meaning and can continue to reflect prejudice and discrimination even when rendered null by our highest courts,” Capps said. “Our values as a country are reflected in our laws. I authored this bill because it is imperative that our federal code reflect the equality of all marriages.”
Capps said that amending the language used was necessary to reflect “the equality of all marriages” following last month’s Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage that mandated all states to license same sex marriages.
“Now that compulsory gay marriage is the law of the land thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court, liberals are reaching out from that decision to see where else they can force the gay lobby’s agenda on the country,” writes Warner Todd Huston.
Meanwhile, a Toledo Municipal Court judge who refused to marry a same sex couple because of his religious beliefs is seeking an advisory opinion from the Ohio Supreme Court on whether he can opt out of performing gay marriages.
“On Monday, July 6, I declined to marry a non-traditional couple during my duties assignment. The declination was based upon my personal and Christian beliefs established over many years. I apologize to the couple for the delay they experienced and wish them the best,” Judge C. Allen McConnell, a Democrat, said in a statement.
Gay group Equality Toledo said the couple were “humiliated” by the incident, despite the fact that they were married by another judge shortly afterwards.
