New PUP Gear.

New pieces we can use from the most recent update. Going to bold the ones that are potentially useful.


Murzim Zucchetto
DEF:46 HP+42 MP+42
Enmity-6 Haste+5%
Automaton: Haste+6%
* Nice for if you're letting your auto melee with you, perhaps not the best rep over DA+3% and an extra haste.

Murzim Corazza
DEF:75 HP+53 MP+53 Attack+15
"Store TP"+6 Haste+4%
* Murzim seems to slightly win out against Cirque+2 - Marginal upgrade until Thaumas/Euxine+3.

Murzim Manopolas
DEF:30 HP+35 MP+35 Attack+5
Haste+4% Increases critical hit damage
* tested with 5% crit on spreadsheet, Cirque comes up slightly ahead (by around .5 melee dps.) Apparently churns out slightly higher weaponskill numbers against Fodder and Dynamis DC.

Murzim Cosciales
DEF:49 HP+36 MP+36
Ranged Accuracy+16
Ranged Attack+7
Increases "Rapid Shot" activation rate

Murzim Gambieras
DEF:29 HP+35 MP+35 Attack+12
Enmity+8 Haste+3%


And more mage gear that we've been baffling once again been placed on.

Nice to see SE giving jobs that didn't have access to Homam gear, access to this 99 stuff. Honestly though, don't see myself busting my *** to get any of this stuff for my pup, let alone any other jobs that can use, especially since I hate Limbust...

I personally loved limbus, but I have to agree with you. Hopefully the promised augmented Homam is decent for the jobs that can use it, but I see nothing worth the 200 ABC requirement for entry here.

I just wonder what the impetus is for doing the event, depending on the difficulty it seems worth neither the time nor effort.

Anyways, im sorta disappointed in the new homam gear, tbh.

Going back on topic a bit, just checked out Blue Gartr and states:

Enif: THF, PLD, DRK, DRG, BLU
Adhara: WHM, BLM, RDM, SMN, BLU
Murzim: THF, PLD, DRK, RNG, DRG, COR, PUP, DNC
Shedir: WHM, BLM, RDM, BRD, SMN, BLU, SCH

So Enif is not for pup, unless they missed out on pup having access.

To stay on topic, im curious how potent the fast cast/crit dmg + these new pieces will have.

I dont think i need to back myself up here, i know how to play all my DDs, ppl can vouch for me and PUP is no exception...so if for some reason you indeed wanna parse against my PUP, which doesnt even have Neo-Nyzul isle gear yet, by all means.

I'll be the first person to say PUP won't beat an equally geared DD, but you're not equally geared.

I still, for the life of me don't understand why PUP can't use:

Rubeus spats
[Legs] All Races
DEF: 43 STR +10 INT +13 MND +13
Accuracy +10 Evasion +10 Haste +3%
Set: Enhances "Fast Cast" effect
Lv. 98 WHM / BLM / RDM / BRD / SMN / SCH

But we have access to:

Chelona Trousers
DEF:46 MP+40 STR-8 DEX-8 VIT-8 AGI-8 INT+8 MND+8 CHR+8
Enmity-5
Bonus damage added to magic burst

Both mage gear...but one would be actually useful to a job that has melee skill...balance!!!

If you were deadset on maximising Pet haste + Master haste this set offers 25% haste and 15% Pet haste



I'm not entirely sure there'd be a situation where that would be useful, but it might have some niche use.
