I guess it's feasible they could have added a 3rd resist state?
By mortontony1 2011-12-27 16:14:06
Off the current topic, but on just normal DNC stuff, would it be worth unlocking Phyric without the dagger to go with it?

Of course. Pyrrhic is lovely outside to self skillchain darkness.

Pyrrhic has its uses, but they're becoming less and less common.

Useless if you're a Twashtar wielder, because Rudra's does it too, and can even skillchain with itself.
The usefulness of Pyrrhic lies in the Evasion Down effect, really.

Still doubt you'll cap w/o aggressor.

I was thinking of more of a "bridge" to Twashtar, I decided I want to get it, I just don't have the ability/time/people (Don't turn this into a lolempyrean - takes 2 weeks conversation) for those NM's just yet. Darkness is obviously awesome, but what kind of dmg does it do? Inside and out.

Pyrrhic Kleos is slightly weaker on average than Dancing Edge and Evisceration and pales to Exenterator.
There's not much that wouldn't survive PK --> Evis -> Darkness that would survive DE --> DE --> Scission.

Not really, PK is only -10 evasion. Also remember there's a level-difference penalty to accuracy.

Hmmm... well my usual SC is either Evis > Exen or Evis > DE
The extra damage from Darkness would more than make up for the base damage PK is losing I'd bet?

Ah that would explain why you would use Evis after PK, more damage. {Understood.} now. Thank you ^^

Well, Hit rate is:
Hit Rate (%) = 75 + floor( (Accuracy - Evasion)÷2 ) - 2×(dLVL)
So if they're about Level 109-110 as I'd expect them to be, we have a 20% hit rate disadvantage to start with. 40 of our accuracy "disappears" to make up for that.
Aggressor is nice, but it only adds Acc+25.

Thank you ^^ pretty much and if you arent capped on accuracy for w/e reason, generally using it atleast once on a target will help in the long run, and if the mob would die to the skilllchain then the extra bit of acc would help with evisceration.
so basically you got a decent weapon skill-> better weapon skill with 10 more accuracy -> darkness

I've been told Flourish 3's were totally useless, but what about Climactic Flourishing for PK? Would that be worthwhile?
Edit: Nevermind, I thought it forced crits on non-crit WSs. My bad.

It does, but it won't show a significant increase in damage. It works so well for Rudra because the fTP on the first hit is so high.

Edit: Nevermind, I thought it forced crits on non-crit WSs. My bad. it does if you wear the af3 head piece, but since pk is a multi-hit the value of criting the first hit isnt so grand, you are better off using building flourish if you were to use any flourish at all for it.

I've grown to really like Building Flourish. 25% attack boost is freaking amazing vs. high defense targets.

Although admittedly, it does feel a little bit dirty promoting it. It's kind of like telling someone about that really kinky porno you like.

Asymptotic told me that he merits Building Flourish instead of Reverse. True fax. Secret is out.

If all I did were VW, I would merit Building instead of Reverse.

Well, I'm almost done betraying DNC testing in favor of THF. Maybe I'll even log in to the real servers tonight!

so uhh i took some time out of my days to level a bard alt
soooooooooooooooo what are some good tp setups for when i recieve march x2 and haste (spell)
edit: downloaded .net framework and ffxicalc last night and from what i see all thats required to cap haste (assuming march x2, haste (spell) and haste samba)
or the new thokcha in offhand or whatever, im still 1~2% short of the true delay cap so i dont know if i should fill in with charis necklace or suppa or what
edit #2: i hate double posting so yeah anyways how does Oneiros ring fare against Rajas? I know you gotta get your mp merits and whatnot
Oneiros Ring Rare
[Finger] All Races
Accuracy+3 Latent effect: "Triple Attack"+2%
LV 88 WAR MNK THF BST BRD RNG SAM NIN DRG COR PUP DNC
Edit #3: Some itemsets i made for this
outside aby
was unsure of oneiros, aesir, and brutal, I haven't done an incredible amount of voidwatch on dnc, i've been on sam or whm so I'm new to this type of setup
inside aby
ran into some problems here, not sure if I would go with the athos gear or swap it out for soemthing else, I dont know how athos legs and etoile +2 legs would par against eachother inside aby
I'm working to get this all updated and stuff, until then, read what's already here!
Current sets on pages 83-84.
In general, check the last few pages of the thread, as the most updated information will be there.
