I've been trying to fish Bastore Breams using Lu shang and shrimp in port windurst.. But I never seem to catch many. Is there any other combination that works?
I think West Sarutabuta (however you spell it) has a better bite rate. You'll get Ogre Eels as well but you'll definitely be able to tell which is which by the pull.

I've done pretty well there.
That being said, depending on why you need breams, Nashmau mercanbaligi are infinitely more abundant.
I do have Ebisu, had since about lv.95 fishing. There are fast ways to skill on fishing? I've always found it slow but enjoy it. As for gil aspect i have to much atm with nothing to spend on :(
Targetting fish that bite the most is the fastest way to skill, making Haks a slow option cause even in 24 hours you probably won't catch 200.
Fishing? most people who fish in game are botting....... sad.
Sad? lmao what's really sad is people who waste hours and hours a day on a mini-game inside a game that tells you not to forget about your real life; work, school, friends, family.

I need it for making Bream sushi, so I suppose mercanbaligi would work just as well. But trying in sarutabaruta atm, with shrimp lure and it really isn't giving any hits.
Should I maybe head to Nashmau and fish for mercanbaligi.

deademoiselle- Dho Gates at entrance from Foret de Hennetiel with sabiki rig you can catch 3 at a time.
apkallufa- Marjami Rivine with sinking minnow.....hard as hell to reel up it feels like. Then again my fishing skill is 86. I have fisherman's smock, hands, leg, and feet, and fisher's torque.
Just saying this because no one is buying the ones I put up or have in my bazaar haha. Trying to get the market going.

I guess if having a real life, family, children, a job, friends etc. is a crutch, you got me. The fact that you love going back and fourth for hours on end is your own personal choice... :D

Why is it that people feel obligated to fish? If you can't manage legitimate fishing with real life responsibilities, or if it's too boring to tolerate, what makes you feel that botting is acceptable as opposed to simply not fishing.
Not fishing is a legitimate alternative to fishing.
edit: In retrospect, I regret contributing to a discussion that's been had week after week with the same outcome. Would delete, but already been quoted.
There are fishing topics that come up now and then but mainly are asking a question for a single answer. I know there are many fishers that visit these forums so this is an attempt to get people involved and have a little fun discussing one and only one thing, fishing!
The emotions of fishing.
I know Blue Gartr has a Fishing topic already, but I would like to see this community get involved a little bit and talk, since not everyone visits BG. I would love to have a topic just for fishers including veteran fishers, casual fishers, and even players just starting out and want to ask a few questions without being embarrassed about starting a whole topic for a simple answer they could not find.
I only ask that you keep any bot talk to a minimum, preferably none.[Moderator edit: No bot talk] I want this to be a place where we can discuss anything from GP items of the day to what lure/bait to use or what area is best. A quick mention of how you're doing on the lu shang/ebisu quest, how you're doing getting your fishing items from Grounds of Valor, that item you're saving your GP up for, or how much you wish you could hurt Zaldon for not finding anything in your fish for the 10,000th time. Your lucky moment streaks and the moments when you have nothing come your way and question why you started fishing in the first place. Anything that comes to mind, think of it as the random thoughts thread for fishing.
I will list a few resources that I find to be useful when it comes to fishing:
BG Fishing Topic Great Blue (Amazing Site <3, is out dated since 2008 but an amazing resource regardless) Final Fishing (Another great resource with one of the most in-depth guides made. Out of date though.)
Fish Size Chart [GE][Wikia] Chenon Diary (The site seems to be down for good though, it was a site made for Fish Ranking)
I shall add more if people provide good resources.
