Abortion is totally harmless, if needed >_>

It seems like such a huge deal in America, here in Scandinavia it's not a big thing. If you go to the clinic here (if you're under 18, except for the STI tests. Those are always free.) you can get free condoms, free abortions (not sure if they still offer that) and free STI tests (chlamydia gonorrhea HIV / AIDS syphilis hepatitis).

boarding school

bingo!

there's also the fact that teenagers typical trust their peers more than their authoritative figures, peers are usually having sex+fun, authoritative figures are often seen as prudes+rules, who would you listen to?

if anyone would succumb to peer pressure it would be us boarding school kids, since we only have each other and our parents live far away. I'm the authority! lol

true to an extent, however as to that boarding school note I was referring to what weird places people end up doing it.

lol well, when I was at the rural school it was usually in a barn or a dorm room, and in connecticut it was dorm rooms and classrooms. truck stops and strip malls and stuff like that, is that normal in some places in the US? if so, where?

also a good point about teaching young adults to drink responsibly (I'm sorry but I don't agree with the 21 drinking age, and regardless of legality people are going to drink before 21) good way to make sure your child is safe is to keep them at home, where they won't get into trouble, drink and drive, etc.
drinking is legal in Ohio for those under 21 with parental supervision, it's probably the same in a few other states, I just know my own has laws for such for sure.
I believe they were trying to get this passed in Mississippi, but I don't know what ever came from it.

Are we debating whether the products of public, private or boarding schools are more susceptible to peer pressure? All teens are susceptible!

gf and I were trying to do it in her car near target a few months back.

not that much fun I tell you.

If I hadn't got laid off we'd be moving in together soon, so the irony speaks for itself.

I agree there.

I don't think abortions should be as easy to get.

Well no that doesn't make sense.

I wish Abortions were seen as bigger decision than they actually are.

I'm Pro-choice but I do think that abortions should be handled carefully.

as men, I feel like we shouldn't even have a say in the matter. it's completely a female issue, they should have the right to decide what's best for them without male intervention.

and yeah zahrah, we're having the pressure olympics haha

depends on the woman, and how far along it is.

In the early stages where it's just a clump of cells who cares?

I've argued your point before in another thread awhile back, found it to be in error.

Women (in general) due tend to bring a lot of these emotions (often unnecessarily) to the table though...

I disagree on that point, it's your cells too.

But let's get back to the more civil topic

^^^This^^^

I don't know how any of the mind-*** women I met during university are fairing now.

There was one girl in my dorm who had four over the course of three semesters. She killed herself just before I graduated.

I wasn't really susceptible to peer pressure either.

I was a bit mischievous at times when my friends were egging me on, but mainly...

I was a bad influence on my main group of friends in my third year of highschool (I didn't hang out with them until then, I was with a bad crowd) and they were a good influence on me.

so it kinda evened out.

I never smoked though, and I barely got drunk, I'm glad I got out of the bad crowd because they did some truly moronic things, and I see them high wandering around town for a fix.

If I ever have kids I'm not going to deny them the option of having sex in the house because that's not how I was raised. I'd also teach them the importance of birth control and what to do if they get an STI or just want to be on the safe side. School does a wonderful job of educating here, you can ask them whatever you want and when RFSU (the LGBT association) is in school you can ask them about this stuff too.

Off topic, but I was watching 'A Clockwork Orange' a couple of nights ago. Whatever happened to that avi of yours? Somehow, I think it suits you.

She might not see it as a big deal though. Depends on your view of what a "life" is I guess.

interesting thing about people having sex in the house, would you find it more appropriate that they turn up music so you didn't hear it? or for you to hear it?

even so if the music is loud and annoying?

lol@edit that appears as I click quote.

Turn up the music. It shouldn't have to be THAT loud if they're also being courteous and being quieter as well.
