I've forgotten trying to catch Mesprit is a pain since it always runs away. I just got it to like little silver of it's HP so I'm just gonna track it and use Dusk balls. I'm also using Golbat's Mean look to stop it from escaping
I'm usually pretty disciplined in self control, but I couldn't help myself this time around, and I indulged myself in a little "Let's Play" preview of The Last Story. It truly looks amazing and has a nice FF9 vibe as far as storyline goes. The combat system looks fun, but challenging as it is dynamic and is heavily emphasized on positioning and the environment/breakables. Plus it is host to one of the most awesome female supporting characters to ever grace an RPG: Syrenne. (She is a foul mouthed, booze drinking, dual wielding badass with a heart of gold)
Definitely picking up this title next payday~ Never heard of it. System? :o

Sadly the best titles had to come during the sunset of the system's life. But hell, with the Wii U on the horizon, and the Wii possibly taking a dive in it's already cheapish price, it's worth owning for the exclusives, even if only to function as a Netflix box and Virtual Console emulator. Also worth noting that The Last Story was created by the folks that used to be part of the original Squaresoft before it merged with Enix and thus diminished in quality and direction (Just an opinion though). I have my 360 for Netflix and the like so I don't see getting a Wii. It's made by the same producers and developers as I previously mentioned. The battle system is meh, but retains old school roots, but the overall atmosphere, vibe and story to it is outstanding. It helped convince me that Mistwalker is the new Squaresoft. Warning: It's 4 discs long. That's right, 4 dual layer DVD discs long.

I had Lost Odyssey for a few days. Could NOT get into the oldschool take-turn battles at the time. Too bad because it looked AMAZING!

Yeah, I'm sure Mistwalker was under the scope of Microsoft since they're the financial backers of Mistwalker when it first came out as a company. So they likely had to "mix it up" to help promote sales for contemporary gamers with Microsoft Game Studio being the publisher. But if you can get past the "mechanical" annoyances, and see the game as a whole, I'm sure you'll find it as incredible as I do.
