@Mag <_< I think you've used that reference more than once (if it wasn't you, someone else on this forum did) but the only thing I think of when you say it is I.Robot and I'm sure that's not what you're referencing.

@Ruler it's an ideal that needs to be broken! People Liela shouldn't be denied yummy foods simply because of the time of year it is.

Another part could be due to mass-media advertising. Notice how you see a lot more soup commercials during the winter than you do in the summer. Campbells was very good at this in the older days and you know how the masses will believe almost anything that is on TV. Remember their "mmmhhmm mhhmmm good" commericals with the kid coming in from out in the snow looking like a snowman and the bowl of chicken noodle soup melted the snow and warmed him up. ***like that probably had some influence and helped to cause said mindset.

It must be just following tradition for tradition's sake. Darn those traditions! I want mashed potatoes!

and scalloped potatoes
and au gratin potatoes
and cubed potatoes
and baked potatoes
and Idaho Sunrises
and all the other potatoes! Why do I always have to crave potatoes? ._.
I'd never before heard of this and I'm pretty sure my wife hasn't or I would have already heard of it because she'd of made me make it..

Pretty sure you just added something to my recipe library, my wife is gonna make me make this, I just know it.

Idaho Sunrise:

large baked potato (russett or sweet)
1 Tbsp. butter
2 eggs
2 strips bacon, cooked and diced
2 Tbsp. shredded cheese
1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Lay the baked potato on its side, and use a knife to carefully cut off the top third of the potato. With a spoon, hollow out the middle of the potato to make a “bowl”, leaving the potato as thick or thin as you’d like. (Just remember, the more room you leave, the more room for eggs, bacon and cheese!)

Place 1/2 tablespoon of butter in the middle of each bowl. Then gently break an egg into each bowl, careful not to break the yolk. Top with bacon, cheese, parsley, and then season with salt and pepper.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, or until the egg whites are set. Serve immediately.

It is 5:02. Why aren't they here yet?! Why won't they answer their cell phones? Maybe they crashed ;; Maybe they are stuck behind a flippin' wall of fire because this is Idaho atm:

Maybe I'm needlessly worrying about nothing because that's how I roll.
