Yeah, I always shop at weird times. Was looking and they are about $50 a month for unlimited blah blah blah phones and about $80 for the phone itself. Figure if I go that route I will get my money back from the phone in 4 months, and start saving money from there.

Going to call Verizon today to cancel my contract phone and hopefully they won't give me any crap about it as it has been two years and six months and was a two year contract. Just boggles my mind that it is cheaper to go month to month with pay cards and you get more service (and a nicer phone) while the people they lock into a contract have to pay more.

Maybe I didn't pay attention in my business courses enough, but I thought that you would have contract customers pay a little less since they are locked in and guaranteed payments while the flaky month-to-month people should have to pay more.

When finances allow, I use Net10's $25/month for 750 minutes cards. <__<

Yeah honestly I don't need the unlimited stuff, was just looking at the most expensive option should I choose it.

Last month I used 51 minutes and 55 text messages. The month before 101 minutes and 129 texts. Before that 136 minutes and 190 texts.

For me pretty much anything would be overkill, which is why I find it more and more ridiculous that I am paying Verizon $72 a month :/

You would probably be fine with Net10, though I dunno if they have internet-phones. I use a very basic one since I don't need it for anything but texting and the occasional call. Might be worth looking into.

25 bucks is a really good price for what you get. But the catch is your minutes don't roll over when you add the next card.

And they don't have that many "nice-looking" phones, if that's your inclination.

I'll look into it and ask around, it's one I have never heard of and I kinda live up in Bumfuck, NY (the very most northern parts of NY) and sometimes service is shoddy with various companies. When I first moved here I was with sprint and had all my military discounts carry over plus I had a phone I loved but I had NO SERVICE :(

Not having minutes roll over doesn't bother me really, the ones I have now don't or I would have a bajillion at this point.

Well, I say that because most pay card phones let your minutes roll from month to month. I used tracfone for a while and the only reason I had to buy cards was to keep the phone active (amassed somewhere around 1000 rollover minutes).

Net10 is Tracfone brand and appears to be nationwide, so you can probably find it. Net10 website

It also doesn't help that I am kinda pissed off with Verizon about the whole "Upgrade your phone after two years" thing. I finally got around to going on the site to look into it and the only free "upgrades" they offered were all refurbished phones with models older than mine. Anything that would actually be an upgrade was just discounted and still cost around $100 which is just silly.

Contract cell phone plans are just silly to me. XD

I avoid them like the plague, all they're good for is unwanted stress from customer service and a chance of boosting your credit rating.

Browsing the website myself, they actually do have some decent Android phones.

Edit - Ah I see, the carryover is only if you are doing talk only. Still that's pretty legit.

I think I am going to try and give up Monster/energy drinks. Felt really crappy after drinking so many this weekend and they weren't even keeping me up anymore.

Meh... I may. I really do not enjoy taking naps unless under extreme conditions, even this one doesn't seem good enough to waste so much time sleeping. :/

I normally recognize people as well after they shave, thats why I didn't know what to think at first XD
