Later on while with my gal friends a couple of guys on their scooter thought it was fun to run in circles around us screaming to scare us.
The world might not be made of only people like that, but that's enough for me to keep my position on the matter.

Is it just a stereotype that all Italian guys are douchebags? When I was in Rome some guys were joking (or what we shrugged off as joking) to me and a friend that it's a tradition to have sex in the Vatican. We've always wondered if they were hitting on us and being super sleazy or if it was a joke.

Hmmm...There were also some guys from Naples that kept nagging us about getting drinks with them even though we couldn't leave our group. We met them outside while having a cigarette, and I swear they followed us all over the hotel every time they spotted us! It was so annoying!

What you were talking about just reminded me of that story. That one and "Roman Fever", but to a lesser extent. They both address what you're talking about, while at the same time showing the contrast between the Italian people and American. However, "Daisy Miller" is also based on Naturalism. If anything, it's an interesting read.

Interesting...IDK. I was taken aback by how abrasive and forward the men were in both instances.
I think the nicest men I've met abroad (excluding Germany) have been from the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, and Scotland.
I think some guys just like to play the odds. if 1/35 girls doesn't walk away and ignore you then you're still successful that one time. Sleeze around enough and you can make that work out to be quite productive over time.

Nah, i'm not fond of that method. I was never fond of that method, it's too easy. I prefer to be classy, witty and use my understanding of the human psyche. Oh manipulative word play helps too, but you learn that with time.
