My USB keyboard was malfunctioning (just bought it earlier today, didn't know it was gonna be messed up, was working fine until just earlier), and some of the keys put in random letters and numbers.
I had the screen go black randomly, and I was like, "That's weird, but oh well". Restarted, tried again, and it did the same thing. Was afraid I had a virus so I ran in Safe mode.
My laptop offered to do a system restore, so all I thought was "yes please". Turned out what it really wanted to do was reset ALL of my stuff to factory defaults. It restarted and then ran the first dialogs that it ran when I got it originally. Name the computer, choose language and time zone, etc.
So I was like, "I lost all of my stuff, but at least I got rid of the virus", then the laptop shut off on me again. Clearly not a virus, but then it dawned on me that the glitch in my keyboard was causing one of the keys to register sleep mode.
Anyway, lost all my stuff, wasted 20 dollars on a new keyboard that doesn't work, and now I get to spend the next few days redownloading everything.
