Resident Evil was... a movie. The marvel type humor was kind of cringe at some points. Then, it had literally 0 to do with Resident Evil, like everyone suspected. Practically nothing outside of 1 or 2 easter eggs and a name. Not even the monsters lol, can't make this up. The movie itself was good if it was called literally anything else. Of course social media is eating this up, I feel like theres a bot campaign behind this
If it was just "generic movie with zombie monsters" it'd be pretty great.
Tied to the anchor of RE and being literally nothing to do with RE it's meh This has been done with book movies, why not game movies?
They can call it whatever they want, no problem there.
The issue is it's not going to make any money. Spend 500 million dollars on some *** and lose 200 million. Call it whatever the *** you want, just make it good. It's free money and publicity no matter how much the source material gets twisted. Evidently that is incredibly hard to resist based on how frequently it happens.
If you can get people bitching about it, you can get idiots to hate watch it.
Engagement is free advertising. It's inferior to positive advertising though 99% of the time. Why pay an extra 100 mil to call it RE that you're going to lose when it would've perfectly fine as generic zombie horror movie title pending. Its projected to open at 50m, I can't imagine its budget being much higher than that. It should turn a profit pretty easily even if it suffers a huge 2nd week drop. Which it probably won't considering there is nothing big coming out.

lol god, just shows you all you need to see about the state of most AAA games these days. It reminds me of the hardcore hand holding the Pokemon games do... completely stupid. Isn't it sad that now these games are being made by most of our generation, literally Millennials and they suck at making games lol.
The problem is the millennials aren't making games for millennials.
They're making games for zoomers who have *** tiktok brain. The same reason why they have to put handholding and yellow paint and lines and markers on everything, same reason why every tv show has to explain the plot while doing the plot. The studios are making them do it. No one can pay attention for ***. Just wait until the zoomers are making games for the gen alphas and betas. (2 million copies of wolverine sounds like a pile of horse ***too) It will probably hit 5m by the end of the year. His insane popularity will see to that. It won't touch Spiderman sales, but it will be alright. The ending sets up a sequel as well. Oh and that whole Sabertooth and Wolverine are gay for each other thing? Completely fake. But we always knew that.
There has never been a shortage of shitty video games, even shitty games that sell well. Most of them didn't cost anywhere near 300m to make, though. Thankfully this will probably be one of the last under the current environment.
Until the shareholders tell Blackrock and Vanguard to get ***, the production of shitty games will continue.

It's all controlled hype, idk how they don't see it. I need a side game to play for when I'm feeling burnt out from catching up on stuff in FFXI.
Talking about playing, I woke up without the slightest desire to work (well, it is sunday and Ive been going on for weeks straight).
I think I will take the day just to play Palworld, and resume my acivities tomorrow. POE2 has been incredibly fun even though I don't like seasonal or league games much, Diablo4 was a guilty pleasure for a while because I grew up on Gauntlet and similar stuff in arcades long ago, but it is inferior in every way.
Been working through a lot of Atlus RPGs including Metaphor, SMT3, Raidou Remaster. Then the soulslikes Elden Ring, Mortal Shell 2. Found a relatively new fan translation of the Square RPG Bahamut Lagoon that never got an international release, plan to go through it soon.

I'm jaded and don't seem to like new games anymore.
Rather watch some totally legally downloaded TV shows instead.

I went through that for a while, and most of what I listed isn't super new, just backlogged. Lots of unlisted stuff I played for less than an hour never to touch again.
Just how it goes. Don't try to force it imo, as long as you aren't spending way above your means it's no different than going out to a restaurant and getting shitty service and undercooked food. Not gonna stop eating out bc of 1 experience. If you don't enjoy something, why continue to put yourself through it.
Not like there is a lack of other things to be doing for entertainment purposes.
