Recently I picked Boy's Abyss to read, and damn.. this is hitting home way more than I would want to admit...
I can completely understand the sorrow of the protagonist for being trapped in a shitty city, with shitty family, and wanting to desperately ran away.
I started this thinking the guy had it rough. Having to care about his grandma, his shutin brother, being poor, living in a dead city, dealing with a bully and having no perspective in life.
But then it turns out all his problem are just those. He then managed to have sex with an idol, with a yandere teacher, rejected having sex with his childhood friend. Even his bully seems like is in a BL with him. And even his mother almost joined his awkward harem…
So, I stopped sympathizing with the guy. Sure, he has some problems, but looking in perspective, they arent so uncommon situation for most mere mortals. Plus, none being actually hostile with him, and having so much sex, right now I just think he is being edgy and overreacting.
This was supposed to be a drama story, but I stopped to see it as dramatic at this point. Im already feed up with this protagonist
