Why does Youtube suck so much? These aren't "suggestions" anymore, rather, this is what we've decided you should watch.

Can someone root youtube as sudo and rm *.* all? kthanksbye

Youtube is weirder and weirder. They seem to have bitten off of other algorithms where the algorithm is taking in your personal info and tailoring recommendations to you not just by what you watch, but when you usually watch it.

I've been putting on lo-fi/soft music to fall asleep to for a few years now, and once it hits a certain time during the late night/early morning hours, my recommends completely become hour long or more videos of soft music.

Also noticed that if you watch a video longer than 10 minutes, it will start recommending you stuff from that channel or just like it for like the next 3 hours.

The algorythm I've been annoyed by for months.

You watch one thirst trap, the whole feed is thirst traps. You watch one incel rant about Disney, your feed becomes the whole neck beard crew. You watch one pc benchmark and unbox therapy, marquis, ltt, flood your feed.

Like Can I just watch one god damn thing without being show literally every video in existence that's similar.

I use private windows/incognito mode probably between 60% and 80% of the time now. If it's something I suspect is going to adjust my recommendations for the worse, it's worth the couple of extra clicks to avoid.

Honestly, given i dont have a wide amount of medias to follow (maybe three sites at most), most of time i find myself refreshing youtube for some interesting content that i would never find outside the algorithm,

I do think once you “dirty” your watchlist, it takes too long before you stop receiving unwanted recomendation.

For example, last month i watch 2 random videos about Dragon Ball and Pokemon. I mostly dont follow those, i just got curious about those particular videos.

Even today i receive videos about them.

I also watched many Star Wars theory recently, but i feel like i got the gist of most of it. Lately, all SW content isnt appealing to me,

The last Palworld update video was also enough for a lot of Palworld recomendations too, so my recomendations are pretty dirty right now.

Do notice even hovering the click on a video thumb is enough for Youtube to comsider it “watched”.

I was surprised with amount of videos i never watched or never would be interested with, but that are registered in my history

Firefox has a setting where every window is incognito, no history is kept after restarts and no cookies are stored.

I'd suggest more people make use of it.

Settings/Privacy/History - Never Remember History.

Youtube hates this and shows you a blank front page if your history is turned off.

I enjoy annoying Youtube's algorithm so more of a bonus really.

Yes, you will have to re-login everywhere. Also a bonus and forces use of password managers. Or use the same password everywhere like it's 1993 again.

I always feel weird seeing these kind of comments anywhere because I've never had an issue with Youtube's algorithm; it's always pretty on-point with recommendations for me. Maybe I'm just so smoothbrain it's got me figured out. /shrug

Honestly that might just be the way to go. I find myself growing further away from more and more web sites every day. My Bookmarks Toolbar consists solely of FFXIclopedia, BG-Wiki, Twitch, and Google Docs. Aside from those, I obviously wind up here often enough, and I'll occasionally check YouTube or my emails.

I just can't be assed. Everything feels like a job nowadays. "Gotta check all of my YouTube subscriptions for fear of missing out, even though I haven't watched anything genuinely interesting or funny in probably about 6 years!"

It feels like I gained an extra 4 hours a day since I abandoned Facebook.

Would a used gtx 1080ti for $200 be a good price?

It is in good working condition and looks in great shape.

That's not a bad price though you can grab a 3060ti for around the same which gets you similar performance and access to DLSS and RT cores which is big for a lower end card.

Cool, thanks! I'll write that down and search around. I'll have to open up my tower to make sure a 3 fan one would fit.

I wasn't sure what else was comparable, but I've always heard that a 1080ti was pretty good(I'm not like super brand new up to date on my pc parts, but it runs what I need it to.)

My current gpu is about half as good as a 1080ti.

1080ti is still a nice card, so if you can't find one of those 3060ti for the same price it isn't a bad get. Just doesn't support all the new AI and RT stuff that the 3060 can is all
