I swear I didn't post because you summoned me. I post because I wanted to mention wuchang: fallen feathers and its negative Steam review drama.....THEN you just happened to post right before me.....

I took 5 seconds to look at the negative reviews:
90% of them are bitching about UE5 and performance.

Nothing about the gameplay or the game style. Guess what other very popular game had massive performance issues on release? Monster Hunter Wilds.


In fact, this makes me wonder if the "professional reviewers" even played the game, or just went for their sensational clitbait review, because I dont remember seeing any complaints about performance from them.

I mean if your job was reviewing games you probably don't play on a potato, you have top line hardware that the nerd in IT told you to get, and then you expense it.

The game is great, no issues whatsoever. It's fun and it's punishing (which is why I like it) I'm old so I couldn't do an all nighter but made it to level 18

It's more than performance issues that leads to 22% positive. If you look at English reviews its positive review rate should be higher than Chinese.

From what I've read, the publishers of this game did several moves that pissed off Chinese gamers, including giving foreign regions discount, and key errors for people who bought the key on Chinese platform. And there are a bunch of drama/attack towards the game studio being posted on Chinese social media and negativity spreads. So Chinese angry mobs are negative review bombing it.

Since majority of the player base are probably (angry) Chinese players, that's large enough of numbers to push the review to very negative.

From what I've heard the performance is fine on consoles, without performance issues and Chinese anger most reviewers seems to agree that it's a 7-7.5/10 souls like that feels like DS1.

I need to ask the shaman what is the opposite chamt, to dismiss Alfania.

Though I fear the only effective way is simply exorcism

I'm not saying all these reviewers are on PC's from the early 2000's, but thats a very large number of negative reviews strictly related to performance. I'm installing it to my RoG Ally now and that will be a good idea of what kind of performance issues there are.

Point is Afania was trying to bait with a nonsensical headliner comment without looking at why its sitting at 22% reviews. Almost no one was complaining about the gameplay or aesthetic or anything of that ilk.

So these negative reviews have nothing to do with the game, but Chinese CCP community trying to blackball a company thats not bending the knee to their overlords by spamming them with *** reviews completely unrelated to the game itself. And you're admitting to this very thing like its some kind of gotcha??

Actually, there are. There are also Chinese players complaining about "INACCURATE HISTORY PRESENTATION" "ENGLISH SCRIPT GOT CHANGED!" kinda ***on Chinese Social media too. Those are complaining about game/story itself, with western anti-woke level of negative hysteria over something really minor lol.

Edit: I re-read the Steam review, it feels like at least 30% of Chinese reviews and comments are arguing about Qing Dynasty presentation lol. And maybe 1-2 out of 10 reviews are complaining about performance issues.

So the hate is definitely not "performance issues" only thing.

This negative hysteria likely has nothing to do with CCP government.....=.=

If CCP hate a Chinese game, they don't need to negative review bomb it on Steam. They can make it disappear.

It's just normal internet collective negative behavior like what we've seen in that "New Games Sucks" thread. People on the internet make small issues into a world shattering big deal then it spreads.

There is this kind of negative hysteria behavior on Chinese social media daily. It just happened to become more well known this time because it affects a well-known game released in the west.

I had to do some background research on exactly what they are arguing and negative review bombing about, it looks like it's mostly Han Chinese Supremacists who are favoring Ming dynasty(A Han Chinese dynasty), who aren't happy that the game presents Qing Dynasty(A Manchu people dynasty that destroyed Ming) in a more positive way in the game. So they are spreading game hate on social media due to this. Then negativity spreads on Chinese social media like wildfire which leads to tons of angry mobs negative review bomb.

So the drama is stirred up by the story presentation in game and it's not about CCP nor company not bending knee or something.

English positive review rate is currently 55%+ but Chinese positive review rate is less than 20%. It's not only performance issue if the positive review rate gap is so huge.

Don't see that game doing well in North America just because if people want a "Souls-like" they will just play an actual Souls game in Nightreign.

It's a soul-like with a pretty girl though ;( Miyazaki didn't make pretty girl souls game!

That seems to be all the Chinese market cares about.

So i installed wuchang on my Ally aaaand either this game is not very gamepad accessible or the Ally doesnt play nice with it (likely vice versa). I have to keep opening the on screen keyboard and pressing E to pass thru menus.
