Maybe you just like the character, maybe you just want to look at a nice butt when you play, maybe you're closet trans. Nobody should give a crap that you're doing it, nor why you're doing it. And frankly, if anybody does make a big stink about it, it's an opinion you can disregard anyway. So, I need more opinions on this grammar police.
Sentence Option 1: Val nodded and they walked into the bedroom to join Jen while Carly waded back through the water again. Matt sat down, while Val laid next to Jen and took her hand. Because of the structure it is the second one.
"Lie" would be the right context, and lay is the past tense of lie. Where as "lay", past tense laid would be to act on an object. You lie(lay) down, instead of lay(laid) a thing down. Possibly restructure the sentence to work better, as an option. Or bust out the thesaurus. If I'm ever uncertain, changing the word entirely removes all doubt.

Good Lady. I was just participating in an offensive Campaign Battle in West Sarutabaruta (S), and I must have killed close to 100 Divine Inspirers before they finally retreated. Windurst had sent every army our way, and they "returned victorious" before they even arrived because of how many enemies were dropping.
