I hear the city got 22" of the white stuff. /comfort
I don't remember any one snowfall ever getting that deep there.
Here we never got a deep enough snowfall to break out the snow blower. Or even make a snowball that didn't include grass.
Yeah it got bad they had a mandatory 9pm curfew so all uber was shutdown and food deliveries etc.
Actually one of the worst ones I remember was in 1996, it was a huge blizzard. I was a little kid living in Staten Island and I remember the snow was taller than me lol. It didn't get as bad as then but its weird to have all this in FEB.
Talking about the winter games, thia time, for the first time in hiatory a brazilian (and maybe the first latin american too) earned a gold medal.
When he earned the medal, we had some news of winter games at front page here for a couple of days, before all the news related to itnsimply vanishing from the site

That was fun for a little while until you dug a little deeper and discovered he was Norwegian. His mom was born in Brazil or something and he didn't want to compete for a spot with his stacked Norwegian team. Of course Brazil took him.

Worst I remember was somewhere in the 1960s and had no snow. It was 5f, -15c, with a FIERCE wind roaring through the steel canyons. My car's battery froze and cracked. No idea of the humidity but it obviously enough to help the cold penetrate.
I have been more comfortable at -20f. I had never heard of a car battery freezing before. My electrolyte had to have been weak.
Ridiculous, I need to try mercari or somewhere. Over 100 dollars in fees. I lost 80 dollars on something that was brand new unopened and the only way it sold in over 3 months was to promote it. Crazy
While we lost, witnessing the crashout from certain people of a certain alignment is *** hilarious. Leafs and Sens fans want to run their team captains out of town for accepting the invite to the white house lmao
I like that I feel like Im entering a stage in my life where I see my thinkings as value products.
And mostly, Im using those digital tools to retain those initiatives. Unlike in the past, where I had an idea, wrote in a piece of paper and lost forever. Now, with those written in a small number of digital repositories, I can incrementally work on it over time.
The last “big” idea was when I was reading the python functional programming book, and I was thinking it wasnt that well written.
So, I just skimmed through the chapters, then I pasted the text in chatGPT, asked for a summary, then I researched those summary topics I think I didnt fully comprehend.
In this process, I thought: “damn, seems simple, but I applied a lot of techniques I learned while studying about learning.
So, I decided to write down a list of those techniques and concepts, and over time I will see if I can make a book out of it.
Then some youtube videos explaining parts of my own book.
Then Udemy course explaining the book as a whole.
Then a movie starring the big star Panta in his journey to ascension.
Then I will just need to wait for the cash and women to come to me

I quit selling on eBay well over 10 years ago because the fees were outrageous. It seems they've made them even worse.
eBay can rot and fail for all I care. They give absolutely no protection to their sellers. The last straw was I sold a portable microphone recorder (for acoustic music capturing) marked as used-like new.
The buyer purchased it, received it, used it for 2 months, then filed a claim that it wasn't in the condition listed. The microphone recorder even had hundreds of recordings from the buyer left on it. eBay forced me to accept the return and refunded the seller, putting my eBay account in negative status as I had no other things sold... which gave me a strike on my seller account, closed all my other listings, and wouldn't let me sell again until I paid the funds back to eBay.
My haters gonna laugh at me, but between trying to come up with a whole project and probably a lot of headache just to save $60, Ive decided to just pay it, submit the books PDF and ask it to give me the key concepts and summary of them for every chapter.
Got it, so Im ok.
I also see that I can submit images, maybe I can leverage it for an attempt on scanlating some mangas none cares but that I really want to read in life.
If I can scanlate it moderately well, that is a major win.
Gonna try to submit a few pages and see the results.
I think I will try to record me telling the manga story in a video, instead of trying to replace the text and such.
It would be damn large project that Im totally not sure if I will make it real. Certainly not worth, but at least something Ive wanted for years.
This night I wrote the script for the first chapter. The script alone was almost 2 hours of work. Considering maybe I got all images and text done, the rest is me recording the speech and putting the images, probably more 2 hours of work.
4 hours of work for 40 pages. The volume is 200 pages long so required 20h / volume. The story has 14 volumes so we are talking about a commitment of 280h of effort...

Damn that sucks its like my biggest fear there lol. Especially since I'm selling some resin statues that tend to break easily in transit

I don't understand how eBay stays afloat aside from PayPal. It seems like almost everyone sells stuff on FB Marketplace (which is pretty much the only thing FB is useful for these days) or market specific places (e.g. forums). I can't think of the last time I bought something off of eBay and yea, the fees are absurdly stupid.
This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
