Most of the people against the gear are using phrasing like "offensive to some people" and "Native Americans". Not "we", not "I", not "us".
It leads me to believe these people who are so against the gear aren't even Native American. I knew a lot of Native people in high school and they were more likely to wear war bonnets than take offense to them. This doesn't seem to be a Native American thing, this seems to be an SJW thing, I guess so when these people are old, living alone, talking to their cats because they never had relationships to produce kids to produce grandkids, they can say "See this, Mittens? This is from that time I complained about something in a video game and ruined a bit of fun for a few hundred-thousand people."
