stayed up late, waited for it to cool off, and shut off the power to ac. installed nest (3rd generation). was easier and more of a pain than i thought. the ways the wires were set up with the old thermostat were the biggest issue, but other than worrying i was setting it up wrong was a pretty straight forward process.

now my ac will run based on the outside temp and will learn my schedule and use my phone location to figure out when it doesn't need to run. then it gives a read out of your energy use based on diff settings to achieve diff temps when you are at home.


pretty cool. now do i sip coffee and enjoy the morning or finally pass out and go to sleep?
