VDI is just really poorly implemented most of the time. I understand it's popularity, but so many businesses just try to save money across the board and end up with some really unusable setups.
Either way, I'd be curious to find out what the context of the statement was. Last time I saw it attempted they certainly weren't trying to save money.

It'd a basic hardware class I skipped for that very reason. And yes I called outfile server is a great thing for hotswapping or if a RAID drive dies to which he said "yeah but ATA SATA isn't really for RAID" which has nothing to *** do with anything...
Who let this guy teach?!
Is it being treated like a gen ed class or is it actual IT, like an A+?
You still see a lot of data in physical servers. Hotswapping is awesome for some things, is just not worth the cost for most applications.

Some "hardcore" server applications have hotswap capability for pcie cards and even RAM modules...

Eh, then it's centered around client PC's. Servers use a lot of configurations that you wouldn't see used on clients. Unless he's teaching higher level classes as well, he's probably not an IT guy.

Yeah I just talked to my supervisor who is teaching classes over at OU Southern, he said "If this guy tried to get people to take him seriously in any form of computer science facility, they will look at him like he has a *** growing out of his *** forehead"

I'm a certified transmission tech, do you know how many transmissions I rebuilt in 10 years in the shop? I had more than a few vocational teachers who had basically never worked in industry. The old saying goes, "those who cannot do, teach".

For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
